⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻

This resource bundle is great for:

  • Distance learning
  • Independent work
  • Homework
  • Guided reading sessions
  • Assessment practice
  • Reading interventions

These activities are online resources, that use Google Forms, and are linked to your Google Drive. They can be completed by students online using tablets, phones or computers, and are easily assessed by teachers as all the answers are provided in a quick and easy format.

⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻

Time allowance to complete each activity:

5-10 minutes - read through the text individually.

40-50 minutes - answer questions using the text as guidance (including extension activity)

Time allowance to assess:

A class set of activities might take around 15-20 minutes to mark; the teacher can then send the students their marks automatically, which allows them to read back through their work. Nearly all answers are not automatically generated, but only require a small amount of work to assign points. This is because the aim is to get students writing answers and not to just have multiple choice options.

Please ensure when you download this resource into Google Drive that you are logged in to the gmail account where you wish to store the activity. In the past teachers have downloaded resources into their school account in error. Thanks :)

What's the storyline?

You've just started at a new school and after some days, you finally find a friend, someone who makes the daunting halls seem a bit more welcoming. But then, one day, your friend doesn't show up to school. Concerned, you search around, only to find a cryptic note left in their locker. It reads, "I've been taken, and only you can save me."

The note is filled with puzzles and riddles. Your heart races as you realize this is no ordinary situation; your friend is in trouble and counting on you. Will you decipher the code, unlock the door, and prove the unbreakable strength of friendship?

WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE INSTANT DOWNLOAD?

  • PDF game guide (8.5 x 11)
  • 6 puzzle challenges
  • Recording sheet
  • Set up instructions
  • Frequently asked questions
  • Hint cards

Gameplay: 30-45 minutes

Ages: 6 - 10

Number of players: As many as you want!

How long does this activity take to complete?

It really depends on a lot of things. Estimated completion time is 30-45 minutes but it’s based on the kids’ puzzle skills, group size, and age. We recommend ages 6-10 years old.

How many kids can play at once?

Kids can play individually, with friends, or in large groups. There really is no limit to the number of players.

What if the kids get stuck on one of the puzzles?

First off, let them think for a bit! This is where critical thinking skills come in. If they get stuck, hint cards have been included in your download to guide them. It is advised that you preview the puzzles first, so you understand how to complete them.

Where do kids start?

Kids can start on any puzzles and complete the puzzles in ANY order!

How do you know if their answers are correct?

There is an answer key provided in the PDF.

How do I set up the activity?

Just print and play! Everything you need is included in your download. You don’t need locks (you can definitely prepare one if you wish to), envelopes, or special equipment. You can hang or hide the puzzles or just spread them out on the kitchen table.

Do I have to print out the game materials for every kid?

Nope! You ONLY have to print out the answer sheet for each kid or group. Just one set of the actual puzzles is all you need!

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  1. This is a digital product. No physical item will be shipped.

  2. Unlimited prints for PERSONAL USE ONLY.

  3. Quality of the actual printouts will be dependent on the quality and type of printer and paper used.
