Do you teach a foreign language to your students? This packet contains two center activities that help teach colors in English, Spanish and French! It is differentiated so that students who need more help can use the colored word cards and those who are more advanced can use the black and white cards. The first center activity, the students match the color name to the color splat on the color mats. There are color mats available in English, Spanish and French with word cards available with each color. Use Velcro on the word cards and the blank spaces to allow the word cards to stay in place. The second center activity is a matching/memory game where students pair the colored splat card with the correct color word. This center is also available in English, Spanish and French. This unit study is at the level of your middle schoolers - in Core French (FSL) - both for content and maturity. I was finding materials that matched their comprehension were babyish and they'd be disengaged and frustrated! My material is engaging, animated, not babyish but at their (beginner!) level.

These slides and activities will easily get you through roughly 5 or 6 Core French classes at the 4th - 8th grade age.

• 16 'teaching' slides:

• These will prompt discussions with your students and teach them step-by-step how to make a birthday card (en Français). Students are prompted to answer the questions: "Quel âge as-tu?" "Quelle est la date de ton anniversaire?" and "En quelle saison est ton anniversaire?"

• A message du matin is provided with prompts to find les "mots amis," les "mots familiers," and les "lettres fantômes!" I push this a step further with les 8 étapes a l'oral by then getting the students to say their own age, one another's age and then I assess their oral language as they work in partners.

• arrondir les nombres avec la règle 0-4 et 5-9,

Je fournis des instructions guidées qui permettent une libération progressive vers l'indépendance et vous facilitez simplement en parcourant les diapositives.

J'enseigne à une classe combinée de 5e et 6e année et ces présentations sont conçues pour ce groupe d'élèves plus âgés. Ils ne sont pas enfantins, ils n'utilisent pas de polices ou d'images enfantines et vont droit au but. Ils offrent exactement ce dont vous avez besoin pour donner à vos élèves exactement ce dont ils ont besoin pour vraiment comprendre et se sentir confiants et capables.

Fractions de basket!

Dans ce jeu mathématique kinesthésique amusant, les élèves travaillent par paires pour créer un ballon de basket en papier et comptent les tirs réussis et manqués pour trouver des fractions, des décimales, des fractions simplifiées et des pourcentages qui représentent les statistiques des joueurs.

Tout ce dont vous avez besoin, ce sont des gobelets en plastique, un rouleau de ruban adhésif et un bac de recyclage rempli de papier.

Ce jeu est conçu pour les élèves de 5e et 6e année, mais peut facilement être joué en 7e ou 8e année comme révision.

Idéal pour un suppléant ou pour des journées amusantes (ou pour une classe avec une foule de petits fous qui aiment bouger toute la journée, comme la mienne!)

Your students will get excited for this activity which will have them hiding "plant" seeds around the class and finding the locations in your classroom of their peers' "seeds." In fact, take it from my grade 6's who begged me to make more activities exactly like this one... So I did. They try these out before you guys do and let me know what's fun - they've given this the seal of approval.

Your sneaky investigators will need to piece together the locations of the seeds in a cartesian garden, focusing on the first quadrant, ordered pairs and X and Y axes.

Included in this 7-page activity is:

• An explanation page which details how the activity works.
• A "collection" journal for them to track their findings.
• A "cartesian garden" for them to "plot" their seeds and rebuild the garden.
• An answer key.
• Enough printable cards for 28 students.

This works amazingly for a sub and takes roughly 45 minutes to an hour for the students to hide the seeds, find all 28 seeds, and plot them in their journal and then in their cartesian garden. It also works great around Earth Day, and can be easily done outside if you've got a great space and not too much wind ;)

J'utilise ces 27 cartes "J'ai... Qui a ?" une fois que mes élèves sont familiarisés avec les nombres décimaux et sont à l'aise avec les dixièmes et la valeur de position avec les nombres décimaux.

Si vous n'êtes pas familier, les jeux de cartes "J'ai... Qui a?" sont des activités en grand groupe qui renforcent leur capacité à lire et à dire ce qu'il y a sur les cartes. C'est une excellente activité de révision avant l'évaluation et je l'utilise actuellement avec mes élèves de 5e et 6e année ; mais il pourrait facilement être utilisé en 7e année comme échauffement ou rappel.

Dans ce document de 9 pages, vous trouverez :

• Explication du jeu et comment démarrer avec des exemples.
• 27 cartes pré-créées (9 cartes par feuille) comportant des droites numériques de 0 à 3 y compris les cartes "début" et "fin". Pour la partie "J'ai..." de la carte, les élèves ont une droite numérique avec une valeur et une flèche, et pour la partie "Qui a..." de la carte, les élèves ont une forme décomposée écrite en mots, en utilisant les nombres entiers et dixièmes comme vocabulaire.
• 1 page avec des modèles de cartes vierges (avec mini droites numériques vides) à créer si vous avez plus de 27 élèves dans votre classe, si vous souhaitez permettre à vos élèves de créer leur propre version du jeu (j'enseigne une classe combinée, et je laisse mes 6 travailler sur ce projet ensemble pendant que je travaille en petits groupes et que je donne des instructions avec mes 5).

J'imprime ce document recto sur du papier 8,5 "x 11", je le découpe et je le plastifie pour l'utiliser année après année.

This is a freebie for you!

This game of "Four Corners" is not new or unique; however, this one will work great for your middle schoolers who need to get up and move, and you'll find they are more apt to share without raising their hands or writing it down. This quick and easy, no prep and no printing activity will allow you to truly get to know them on a personal level very quickly.

It's HIGHLY visual so this could even fly in a Core French classroom (Grades 5 - 9); however, I use it in an immersion setting (Grades 5 and 6). It could comfortably be used in any Immersion or French first-language classroom (Grades 3 - 9). As with all of my products, it's not at all babyish and doesn't feature fonts that are frilly or hard-to-read.

For this activity, simply project and GO. I let my students know that they will have to choose their response and move to the corner of the room that suits their answer. You can either click through the slides, have a student touch your SmartBoard to move them along, or you can use a remote clicker or mouse (I do while I'm playing!) to keep the slides rolling.

This Google Slide Deck features :

• 29 pre-created, non-modifiable question slides with 4 options to choose from.
• A template for you to use if you'd like to add in your own questions at the end of the presentation.

Other ways to play:

• I've also allowed students independently to each create a slide and add it into the mix on day 2! Should you choose this option, simply copy the last slide into a Google Slide (11" x 8.5") and share a copy to each student in Google Classroom. Let the magic begin!
• You can choose to extend this activity by having your students huddled in their corners chat about their preferences, or share with the whole group. You can also (I do!!) play WITH them and get to know your students based on these small conversations in the "corners" of your classroom.

My class liked the fact it was short. They didn't panic over the amount of reading they had to do. Sometimes longer reading throw them into the "I can't do it zone" even before they have tried. I also like how the readings became more complex from day to day. Every reading level was addressed over the period of 5 days. I also like the reading comp questions. Anything to get them to write!"

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "We read the text as a class and then read each sentence individually asking questions about what the sentence means and what the words are. I always started my morning with this as it allowed students to get focused and ready to learn. Also, after having done many together, I would then have the students do one alone and use it as assessment. They would get feedback and we would continue again to work on the readings together, then another assessment. It worked well cause they had many attempts to practice and knew what was expected before the assessment piece came."

This is a really fun game to practice with your students who are learning vocabulary about LA NOURRITURE, and it involves NO PREP once you've printed and cut out the cards. I've included both a beginner and intermediate version of the game. The beginner version has the words written out and the intermediate version only shows pictures. Have a look at the thumbnails to see what they look like.

Each version includes 32 cards. Depending on class size you could either give each student more than one card or have them play with a partner. I recommend printing out and laminating these cards if possible so that you can use them over and over again.

Here's how this game works. Once each student has a card (or cards), the one who has the card that says "Je commence" starts the game. He says, for example, Je commence! J'ai une fraise. Qui a une orange? The person who has the card with an orange on it says, J'ai une orange. Qui a du bacon? And so the game goes on until the last card is called and that student's card will say, "J'ai fini!"

Another idea is to prepare two sets of cards, divide your class into two groups and let each group have a go to see which team can get through the entire deck of cards the fastest. If the vocabulary is completely new you could start out with the beginner deck and as the words become more familiar you could move on to the intermediate level. It's really a lot of fun, and though you can play with younger students the older ones love this game just as much.
