In the social story that is included in this product that relates with feeling humiliated, how humiliation and embarrassment are similar and different from one another, when you are embarrassed how you may feel, when you are humiliated how you may feel, and how to deal with humiliation, what can cause you to feel humiliated, being a good friend, standing up for friends and why it is important.

The social story includes comprehension questions throughout. Some of the questions require students to put their feet in the shoes of the characters. This 90-minute lesson is designed to help students understand the importance of mental health in a safe, engaging, and age-appropriate way. Students explore what mental health means, why it matters, and how we can take care of our emotional well-being just like our physical health. The lesson includes a warm-up discussion, vocabulary building, video comprehension tasks, group discussions, personal reflection, and a creative poster activity.

Students will learn key concepts such as emotions, stress, and support, and reflect on how life events can affect mental health. They’ll also discuss helpful strategies for coping with tough feelings and identify ways to support friends and classmates. A printable student worksheet provides multiple activities, including matching tasks, gap-fill exercises, true/false questions, and space for creative and personal responses.

The lesson promotes empathy, communication, and emotional literacy while encouraging a classroom culture where mental health is openly discussed and supported. It’s ideal for upper elementary or lower secondary learners and aligns with broader well-being and social-emotional learning goals. All answers are provided for easy review. This is a meaningful way to mark World Mental Health Awareness Week with your class.

Set includes 6 colorful hand washing posters and a story about washing your hands in Spanish. Use these posters to teach your students the steps to washing their hands properly and post them by the sink in your classroom for visual reminders.

How does media effect one's self esteem?

This package contains 6 lessons and a culminating task that will address this topic.

The package is meant to be taught over at least five lessons. With discussion, each page should easily fill a 45- to 60-minute lesson block.

Lessons include:

- definitions and discussion

- Influence of the Media

- self esteem and music videos

- what happens when a "beauty" company helps people see their beauty?

- evolution of an advertisement (print media/photoshopping)

- overcoming stereotypes and negative comments

- Think about how awesome you are

- Hand of friendship (culminating task)

There is currently no final assessment piece included in this package.

Each lesson, except the last, should be started with a gratitude journal page. The idea behind this it to help students see that they have a lot to be grateful for, regardless of what the media may portray to them. The journal pages shouldn’t take anymore than 5 minutes, max. For photo copying purposes, the journal page is placed before the worksheet, for any given lesson.
