Flip Card decks are so handy for the classroom. I use them in small group work to assess and teach specific sounds, combinations of CV sounds, and to decode words together. The large format cards are great for my Grade 1 students as we can do a lot of whole class instruction and the students have so much fun coming up to the front of the class to come up with the 'really hard' CV combinations for their peers to read out loud.

Use the smaller sets for learning centres, individual work, and pair work as your students get familiar with their phonological awareness and phonemic awareness. My students happen to love 'testing' each other by flipping the cards, saying the sound, and then waiting as their 'students' write what they think is the correct letter on their whiteboards!

We love them so much as we can sneak in a little decoding and Science of Reading whenever we get a minute or two of time to fill.

Any French educator who is wanting to practice, assess, and deepen their students understanding of sound work in French. This item is suitable for French Immersion, Core French, and French instruction at any level. How to use:

1. I Have, Who Has? Card Game

Print out, cut up. It can be played in small or large groups. Hand out all of

the cards to pupils, each has roughly the same number of cards. The student

with the 1st card starts by asking Who has...? The pupil with the matching

card replies and asks Who has...? The game finishes when pupils get to the

last card.

During the activity teacher monitors the correct use of articles.

2. Memory Game

Print out and cut up. It can be played in small groups. For bigger classes

print out several times and play in a number of groups. Students look for pairs.

TIP: Print a copy for each student and use as a picture dictionary. Students

cut out the pictures, glue them into their notebooks and add

descriptions.

Students of all ages will enjoy putting this French possessive adjectives puzzle together. Divide your students into small groups and give each group a photocopy of the puzzle. Have them cut out the squares, mix them up, and put them back together again matching the possessive adjectives in French and English. Materials Needed:

• One of the 10 worksheets or the editable template where you add your own words
• A regular six-sided die
• Colors
• Optional: A device with a QR code scanner (phone, tablet, etc.)

Rolling the Die:

• Students roll a six-sided die to determine which color word they read in Spanish.
• Students can also scan the QR code on the worksheet using a device with a QR code scanner to access a virtual dice roller.

Reading the Word:

• Students match the number rolled with the corresponding color word on their worksheet.
• Students read aloud the color in Spanish to practice pronunciation.

Marking Progress:

• Once students read a word, they should shade in color the box using the color that matches the Spanish word read.
• If students roll a number they have already completed, they should roll again until they land on a new word.

Here's the twist: The possible responses start disappearing after time. Incorrect answers lose points and correct answers earn points. Make a few copies of each text and insert into clear pockets to create a quick and easy reading centre; arrange a table with four copies to create a quiet reading group; use one-on-one with your students to assess reading levels, to gain insights to their decoding skills, and to inform your upcoming lesson plans. Make your ESL classroom look different from a regular education room by considering these multilingual clothes names.

Each label takes up 1/4 of a page so they are nice and big, but not too obtrusive. There are 57 clothes for a total of 15 pages. Check out the thumbnail and the preview of some pages in the pictures. They each feature the English verb in big, bold black letters while the other languages are in a smaller font and in different colors. Languages included are Chinese (simplified/Red), Arabic (Violet), Russian (Green), and Spanish (Brown). To help aid meaning, I've included colored pictures and illustrations.

Use these 57 fun and colorful cards to explore clothes vocabulary in 5 languages - use them as flashcards, a bulletin board or wall display, a memory matching game, or the foundation for the more difficult practice of your choice like recognizing words that and many more.

Looking for a fun way to review NUMBERS with your Czech language class? Why not try DOMINO and TRIMINO puzzles? They challenge students to match number words with the correct numerals, a more difficult version for fast finishers is included. Low prep, just print out and cut up. Suitable even for complete beginners.

LANGUAGE FOCUS:

♥ 4 word-numeral matching dominoes (0-12; 0-20; "-teen" and "-ty" numbers; double-digit numbers)

♥ 2 dominoes for fast finishers - students need to solve a mathematical problem and then match the result with the correct numeral (0-12 and 0-20)

♥ 1 word-numeral matching trimino (double-digit numbers)

INSTRUCTIONS:

♦ DOMINO

• students can work on their own or in pairs
• each student / pair gets one bag with cut up domino tiles
• they start with the START tile - students need to match the number word with the correct numeral, they continue until they get to the FINISH tile
• more difficult version for fast finishers - they need to work out the mathematical problem and match the result with the correct numeral

♦ TRIMINO

• students need to match the number words with the correct numerals
• the resultant shape is that of a hexagon
• you can turn it into a competition - the fastest student gets a reward
