Are you looking for a quick, fun way to get your students practicing the conjugations of stem-changing verbs in the preterite tense in Spanish? This fun, low-prep dice activity is a great way to practice verb conjugations and sentence writing! You can specify the tense, so this could be used at all levels! All you need is copies of the game sheet and one or two dice for each group. This activity can be done individually, in pairs, or in small groups and it's a great way to fill a few extra minutes when your lesson ends early or on days with irregular schedules (like standardized test days, pep rallies, early releases, etc). This is also a great learning station activity. My students love playing the dice game and I'm sure yours will too!

This resource includes 2 versions of the activity, each with 6 different stem-changing verbs.

• Version 1 (page 4) contains six subjects, six verbs, and twelve lines for writing out sentences.
• Version 2 (page 5) contains the same six subjects and six verbs as version one without space to write. This version is great to print on colored cardstock and laminate for the future. Two copies of the activity are on each page in version 2.

In addition to the activity, this resource includes instructions for completing the activity with your classes and some teacher tips.

Teaching French printemps - spring vocabulary?  Looking for an engaging way to get your French students to build their communication skills and vocabulary? Taboo is a fun French speaking and listening game where one student has to guess a word based on clues given in French by other students. The catch is that they cannot mention anything that is included in a list of taboo words.

All of the words on each card are written in French and English. This is very useful as many of the words will be new to students whether they are beginners or very advanced. You can easily modify this game to play it with all levels!  You are going to love hearing your students speaking in French to each other about spring.

Object of the game:

One player tries to get his teammate to guess the word at the top of a card. The player must give clues, but he can't use any of the Taboo words in his description. The taboo words are written beneath the underlined word at the top of the card.

Teams score points for each word successfully guessed. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Beginner students should be allowed to use the French TABOO words printed on the cards. This will encourage them to use new vocabulary and will help them in forming sentences to use as clues.

It's Back To School Time! How can you get parents, guardians and families involved in your Spanish class?  Use these templates to communicate with parents at the beginning of the year!  These digital or printable Google Docs are just waiting for your personal touch and details!  Start the new year with high parent engagement!

The first doc is a letter for families which introduces their child’s new Spanish teacher (you!) and asks parents to tell you about their child. **Parents love to tell you about their kids and being asked let’s them know right away that you care!

The second doc is a similar letter, but tailored for the parents/guardians of AP Spanish students.

The 3rd doc is a request for guest speakers.  Why not let our families know how much their life experience is valued?  Send this letter to find out if there are any family members, friends or colleagues that use Spanish in their lives!  **This document is part of my Spanish Back to School Survival Pack for Middle and High School bundle!!**

The 4th doc is a hand-out to give parents, perhaps at Open House Night?  It lists several ways in which parents can help their child succeed in Spanish class, even if they don’t know Spanish.  It’s a great way to empower parents and to give them actionable strategies to be involved with their child’s learning on a regular basis. 

The last doc is a study guide template.  I send this via email about a week before an important assessment.  It’s a great way to keep families in the loop as we encourage them to be involved in their child’s Spanish education!

All of these documents are almost ready to send out!  You can edit and personalize all of them, and they can be printed out or emailed home.  Start your school year with strong partnerships and high parent involvement!

Make your ESL classroom look different from a regular education room by considering these multilingual commonly used action verb labels!

Each label takes up 1/4 of a page so they are nice and big, but not too obtrusive. There are 112 verbs for a total of 28 pages. Check out the preview of the first 4. They each feature the English verb in big, bold black letters while the other languages are in a smaller font and in different colors. Use these flash cards in order to facilitate vocabulary words for AP Spanish Literature. only 7 are blank in order to hold students accountable, but with the most difficult words being defined. 50 cards can be made. Have students change the definition for Metafora. I have divided the vocabulary words, by three. There are many words for students to learn in AP Spanish Literature, and this is one of my aids!

Perfect PDF for those that do not know any French at all. Everything in this resource includes the French with the English translations. This is an excellent resource for homeschoolers who need a French class but have no language background. Also a great lesson for substitutes or fast finishers. Can be used as independent reading for FVR on day 1.

Because students can use this as an independent learner, the resource is great for part of sub plans or fast finishers.

Just print and go with this French board game, worksheet, crossword, and sudoku activity to conjugate the irregular stem verb voir in the futur simple. The board game includes 37 numbered boxes. The first player to reach box 37 wins. No prep for you! Take a look at the preview for full details on everything that is included, and save with the bundle!

Board Game: Some boxes require students to conjugate the verb using the provided subject pronoun, and others require them to name the subject pronoun that matches the verb conjugation. Lots of repetition will really help them to memorize the French verb voir in the futur simple. There are a few fun tricks along the way, so getting to the end isn’t always so easy.

In groups of two to four, players take turns rolling a die to move their pieces forward. Spaces are numbered to keep track of which way they’re moving. There are some spaces with special instructions:

• Départ - Start
• Avance de 5 cases - Move forward 5 spaces
• Recule de 5 cases - Move backward 5 spaces
• Rejoue - Play again
• Tu perds ton tour - Lose a turn
• Fin - End

For an extra challenge and to extend playing time, you can tell your students that they have to land directly on the last square and answer it correctly to win. 

Worksheet: One page worksheet - Half of the page requires students to fill in subject pronouns, and the other half requires them to conjugate the verb. This is a great way to prep for the board game!

Crossword: One more excellent way to review this irregular stem in the futur simple.

Sudoku puzzle: Your students will review this irregular verb stem and exercise their brains in a different way with a sudoku puzzle!
