Coupon Binder -Teach your students or children the power of saving money

By Regina Frazier

Save lots of money while shopping using coupons. This colorful, cheerful binder organizes your coupons and makes it easier for you to find just the right coupon you are looking for while out shopping. Teach your students or children in your household the value of saving money by saving coupons. Create your own coupon binder by using baseball card holders that you can find at many dollar stores or office supply stores. You can either use a two inch or three inch binder to set it up and place all your dividers in. There are two coupon sorting sheets available. Rather than flipping through the pages in your binder to insert coupons which can take a lot of time, you can use the coupon sorting mats. Once the coupons are all sorted, you can then place them in your binder. Children of all ages can help with sorting the coupons. Many kids can also help out with gathering coupons and cutting them out. Have your students write about ways they can help their family save money. There are a couple of writing prompts that you could use to have your students share ways that they can help their families save money. This does not necessarily mean just using coupons. It could mean saving money by turning off the lights when not in use, not taking long showers, or turning in cans for redemption. Some kids might write about a job they do such as a paper route, mowing the grass or shoveling snow. Some students might choose to discuss buying items on sale at the store and not demanding expensive name brand items."Older students can work on the total amount of savings from using coupons. They can also work on figuring out percentages to show how much money is saved during each shopping trip and totals for each month. If you are interested in this product please download to see a few more pictures of what you will get. This binder includes the following: coupon binder cover front page coupon binder back page coupon binder spine 2inch coupon binder spine 3 inch full page dividers include the following fruits and vegetables dairy frozen foods canned goods meats boxed foods beverages snacks personal care pet care office supplies household restaurants department stores miscellaneous two pages of sorting mats for coupons Monthly Savings Chart two pages of a Writing prompt on ways kids can help their family save money. Prompt is done on two different style writing paper to accomodate younger students and older elementary students. real life picture of the inside of my binder with directions on how to set it up. credit page During these difficult economic times, it is important to save money. I hope you can save money for your own family as well as teach your children and / or students about the importance of couponing and saving money. This is a valuable lifelong lesson. You can apply this to any age level. Best Wishes! Happy Saving!!! This product also comes in chevron green and gray binder covers. If you would like another chevron color scheme, please let me know and I would be happy to design one for you. Coupon Binder Green/ Gray Thanks for looking!!! Please rate this product. Fight, Flight, Freeze SEL Lesson Using "Eleven" by Sandra Cisneros & TEST

By Ms. J's ELA

This social emotional learning lesson uses Sandra Cisneros's short story Eleven. During this SEL lesson, students read the short story, view a YouTube video, and reflect on their own stress responses. There are journal entries and opportunities for small and large group discussions as well.

This resource includes:

- links to all relevant materials

- an engaging Google Slides presentation to follow

- a lesson guide which lays out each step of the lesson along with timing

- a self-graded Google Form test

This resource could easily be used by a substitute.

This lesson has always been a favorite of my middle school students. The topic is enlightening for kids who have felt stress responses without understanding what is really happening in their brains and bodies (pretty much all kids). Eleven is a fantastic story to use when learning about stress response because readers are often frustrated by the way the main character responds to the stressor she faces. This is a great way to integrate SEL into an English class.
