By Lara Hocheiser
Teaching your kids love and compassion is a gift that keeps giving.

Fostering compassion in children is also one of the best ways to prevent bullying. With compassion, kids decision-making will be rooted in a deep, caring ethic.
How can we teach our kids about compassion?
Compassion is a quality that children can learn over time and through practice. We developed three lesson plans so your young yogis can foster love and compassion in three ways:

Coupon Binder -Teach your students or children the power of saving money
By Regina Frazier
Save lots of money while shopping using coupons. This colorful, cheerful binder organizes your coupons and makes it easier for you to find just the right coupon you are looking for while out shopping. Teach your students or children in your household the value of saving money by saving coupons. Create your own coupon binder by using baseball card holders that you can find at many dollar stores or office supply stores. You can either use a two inch or three inch binder to set it up and place all your dividers in. There are two coupon sorting sheets available. Rather than flipping through the pages in your binder to insert coupons which can take a lot of time, you can use the coupon sorting mats. Once the coupons are all sorted, you can then place them in your binder. Children of all ages can help with sorting the coupons. Many kids can also help out with gathering coupons and cutting them out. Have your students write about ways they can help their family save money. There are a couple of writing prompts that you could use to have your students share ways that they can help their families save money. This does not necessarily mean just using coupons. It could mean saving money by turning off the lights when not in use, not taking long showers, or turning in cans for redemption. Some kids might write about a job they do such as a paper route, mowing the grass or shoveling snow. Some students might choose to discuss buying items on sale at the store and not demanding expensive name brand items."Older students can work on the total amount of savings from using coupons. They can also work on figuring out percentages to show how much money is saved during each shopping trip and totals for each month. If you are interested in this product please download to see a few more pictures of what you will get.
