Are you looking for a quick, fun way to get your students practicing the conjugations of reflexive verbs in Spanish? This fun, low-prep dice activity is a great way to practice verb conjugations and sentence writing! You can specify the tense, so this could be used at all levels! All you need is copies of the game sheet and one or two dice for each group.

This activity can be done individually, in pairs, or in small groups and it's a great way to fill a few extra minutes when your lesson ends early or on days with irregular schedules (like standardized test days, pep rallies, early releases, etc). This is also a great learning station activity. My students love playing the dice game and I'm sure yours will too!

This activity includes 2 versions of the activity, each with 6 different reflexive verbs.

• Version 1 (pages 4-5) contains six subjects, twelve verbs (six on page 4 and six on page 5), and twelve lines for writing out sentences.
• Version 2 (pages 6-8) contains the same six subjects and twelve verbs as version one without space to write. This version is great to print on colored cardstock and laminate for the future. Two copies of the activity are on each page in version 2.

In addition to the activity, this resource includes instructions for completing the activity with your classes and some teacher tips.

The verbs included in this resource are:

lavarse, bañarse, levantarse, ponerse, afeitarse, acostarse, cepillarse, despertarse, peinarse, vestirse, dormirse, and quitarse.

Use these flash cards in order to facilitate vocabulary words for AP Spanish Literature. only 7 are blank in order to hold students accountable, but with the most difficult words being defined. 50 cards can be made. Have students change the definition for Metafora. I have divided the vocabulary words, by three. There are many words for students to learn in AP Spanish Literature, and this is one of my aids!

Your students are going to learn a lot with this lesson, and it will have them speaking to each other in no time. This lesson can easily be used with beginners, intermediate, or advanced learners. He will ask you to come to his party. Your lines are fairly open-ended, but they must correspond to what he says next, so watch out! Activity 2 Before moving on to the second part of this speaking activity, let’s review some of the most common professions. You can practice this new vocabulary by clicking on the link above which will bring you to a set of review exercises on Quizlet. This document contains a list of professions in English and French, then there's another part with only the French word and an image. All of the images correspond to the images found within the Quizlet study set. After reviewing the professions vocabulary, proceed to the next page where you will see a picture of 11 different people, all with different professions. Activity 3 Tout d’abord, comment s’appellent ces gens, quel âge ont-ils, et quelles sont leurs professions? Have a look at the people in this picture. Use your imagination to determine what their professions are (you may not have the same ideas as others, and that’s ok). Once you’ve determined their professions, tell us what their names are, and how old they are. Again, use your imagination, and try to come up with some French names! Look just below the picture to see an example, then complete the exercise by providing the same information for the other 10 people in the picture (left to right). Activity 4 Now let’s imagine we’re at a party (une soirée). It’s time to make polite conversation (ce qui peut être difficile, mais nous sommes très polis, et intéressants!) Let’s imagine that all of the people in the picture above are at the party, but they don’t know each other. It’s time to make small talk (faire des rencontres et des échanges), en français! Activity 5 Randomly choose two people from the picture above. You’ve already established their names, ages, and professions. The objective here is to have two people who don’t know each other make small talk. You will be practicing your conversation skills, which are: starting a conversation, continuing a conversation, and ending a conversation. The Novice versions have helpful vocabulary on their guides. And they can be used and re-used over and over! Switch partners, switch roles, use them at different points in the unit... and use them as review for more advanced students! Teacher notes make these a breeze to use!

There are 8 Integrated Listening and Speaking activities. The themes are the same 8 themes as the Guided Conversations. These ILS activities contain audio links. Students listen and then record their response. These activities are very much like the AAPPL and STAMP tests and are a great pre-cursor for the Simulated Conversation on the AP Spanish test. The audio links are already recorded for you, but the teacher script is also included in case you want to record your own voice, or show students what they heard when going over their responses. Each theme has 2 activities. There are 5 audio prompts in each (so a total of 10 per theme.) The 2nd activity is meant to be a bit more challenging. You can use that to differentiate for students, or use the 2nd activity later in the unit!

Guided Conversations: 

Guided Convos provide a scenario about a familiar topic and an outline for students to use to keep the conversation going.   Students work with a partner and choose the role of Person A or Person B. They can trade roles, trade partners, or even do the same exact conversation again!  They never turn out the same way!  Students report feeling much more confident and able to keep conversations going after practicing a few times! 

These conversations have 2 different versions for Novice High students and 2 different versions for Intermediate Low students. 

Integrated Listening & Speaking: 

ILS activities are done alone.  Students will listen to a recording, and be given instructions for how to respond.  They might hear: “Tell me about….” Or “Ask me questions about…” .  These activities mimic the speaking/listening portion of many popular Seal of Biliteracy Tests.  

There is a pre-made student activity that requires no language lab!  If you have a language lab or some other kind of recording software, the teacher script will allow you to record the audio for students if you desire.

There are 2 activities in this resource, each with 5 prompts.  They are designed so that the first activity is a bit easier and the 2nd one  a bit more challenging.  Use with different levels or at the beginning and end of a unit! 

✍️Scenario Task Cards:

Scenario Task Cards are my go-to for lots of things!  I display one at the beginning of every class and ask students to take turns talking about the scenario.   But I also use them as a lesson plan for a class activity!  I have students change partners and have them tell a story about 5 times in a row, each time with a new scenario and a new partner.  Then students switch roles.  Listeners become the speakers.  Finally, sometimes I print the scenarios and ask students to write about them in class or for homework!
