This resources includes two versions of each story:

• Version A has the verbs already conjugated, and the students must choose between the preterite and imperfect tenses of the verb.
• Version A also includes true/false comprehension questions in the past tense and students must correct the false statements.
• Version B includes only the infinitive, so they must first decide which tense to use (preterite or imperfect) and then fill in the blank with the correct form of the verb.
• Version B also includes comprehension questions to be answered in complete sentences in Spanish in the past tense.

Each version of the story with questions is between two and three pages long. The two different versions of every story make differentiation simple!

Quick story to use with Spanish 2.

Includes comprehension questions and an extended activity.

Your students are going to learn a lot with this lesson, and it will have them speaking to each other in no time. This lesson can easily be used with beginners, intermediate, or advanced learners. You can adapt it to every level. Beginners should at least know the verbs être and avoir and some very basic vocabulary. More advanced students can go far, as there are many possibilities. ☞Just click here to follow my store! Merci! ❤️☜ Activity 1 Practice making conversation during a phone call from your friend, Luc. He will ask you to come to his party. Your lines are fairly open-ended, but they must correspond to what he says next, so watch out! Activity 2 Before moving on to the second part of this speaking activity, let’s review some of the most common professions. You can practice this new vocabulary by clicking on the link above which will bring you to a set of review exercises on Quizlet. This document contains a list of professions in English and French, then there's another part with only the French word and an image. All of the images correspond to the images found within the Quizlet study set. After reviewing the professions vocabulary, proceed to the next page where you will see a picture of 11 different people, all with different professions. Activity 3 Tout d’abord, comment s’appellent ces gens, quel âge ont-ils, et quelles sont leurs professions? Have a look at the people in this picture. Use your imagination to determine what their professions are (you may not have the same ideas as others, and that’s ok). Once you’ve determined their professions, tell us what their names are, and how old they are. Again, use your imagination, and try to come up with some French names! Look just below the picture to see an example, then complete the exercise by providing the same information for the other 10 people in the picture (left to right). Let’s imagine that all of the people in the picture above are at the party, but they don’t know each other. It’s time to make small talk (faire des rencontres et des échanges), en français! Activity 5 Randomly choose two people from the picture above. You’ve already established their names, ages, and professions. The objective here is to have two people who don’t know each other make small talk. Do your Spanish students need some help with interpersonal speaking?  Are they struggling to have conversations in Spanish?  Let’s give them some guided support with these partner conversations that will help them along!  Both students will have the opportunity to ask and answer questions as part of a conversation, but with a lot of scaffolding to build confidence.

There are 32 guided conversations (8 different themes) in this bundle, so both students will have a chance to ask and answer questions in a conversational way.  Many are differentiated between Novice and Intermediate Level Speakers.

You can use these conversations over and over again! Use them with the unit students are studying now, and use them as review for students who are in upper levels of Spanish! Recycling themes and vocabulary is very helpful to students who are hoping to do well on tests like Seal of Biliteracy, AAPPL, STAMP and AP Spanish Exams.

Do your students struggle to grasp the difference between the reflexive and non-reflexive verbs? This sentence-sorting activity will give them hands-on practice with this often tricky topic! In this activity, your students will sort the given list of 20 English sentences into two categories: reflexive or not reflexive. You could easily adapt this activity for other tenses, simply by providing your own list. In addition to the hands-on practice, this resource also includes two worksheet versions of the same sentences.

This resource contains:

• one worksheet where students choose between reflexive and not reflexive and explain why their choice is correct
