Students play in pairs. They play quick games of "pierre, feuille, ciseaux" to see who will be able to move forward a certain number of spaces on the game board.

The following sentences are written in French on the game board, and it’s fun way to get them speaking more French during the game if they say them when they win:

⭐ La pierre écrase les ciseaux.

⭐ La feuille enveloppe la pierre.

⭐ Les ciseaux découpent la feuille.

When a student lands on a space, he conjugates and translates the verb written on it using the subject pronoun provided. Winning is easy, as long as you're the first one to reach la fin!

Here's how the QUEL DOMMAGE game works:

STEP 1

• Print the game cards on heavy paper or card stock and cut them out.
• Laminate the cards

STEP 2

• Put all of the game pieces in a box and divide your students into small teams.
• Give each team gets a box of questions and a copy of the answer key.
• Students must replace the underlined words in the sentences with pronouns (for example) and say the sentence correctly. When they are correct, they get to keep their game card. However, when they draw a QUEL DOMMAGE card they have to put all of their game cards back in the box.
• The student with the most game cards at the end is the winner.

Just print and go with this French board game and worksheet activity to conjugate the verb voir in the present tense. The board game includes 37 numbered boxes. The first player to reach box 37 wins. No prep for you! Take a look at the preview for full details on everything that is included, and save with the bundle!

Board Game: Some boxes require students to conjugate the verb using the provided subject pronoun, and others require them to name the subject pronoun that matches the verb conjugation. Lots of repetition will really help them to memorize the French verb voir in the present tense. There are a few fun tricks along the way, so getting to the end isn’t always so easy.

In groups of two to four, players take turns rolling a die to move their pieces forward. Spaces are numbered to keep track of which way they’re moving. There are some spaces with special instructions:

• Départ - Start
• Avance de 5 cases - Move forward 5 spaces
• Recule de 5 cases - Move backward 5 spaces
• Rejoue - Play again
• Tu perds ton tour - Lose a turn
• Fin - End

For an extra challenge and to extend playing time, you can tell your students that they have to land directly on the last square and answer it correctly to win. 

Worksheet: One page worksheet - Half of the page requires students to fill in subject pronouns, and the other half requires them to conjugate the verb. This is a great way to prep for the board game!

Your French students need to practice conjugating regular IR verbs, you need an easy and no-prep activity that will keep them engaged and having fun while learning. Look no further! Students already know how to play "rock, paper, scissors" in English, so why not have some fun with "pierre, feuille, ciseaux" while mastering verb conjugations in your French classroom? Besides loving that your students will be engaged in this highly interactive activity, you'll quickly come to appreciate that you can use these games across many levels with any tense that meets your needs!

Students play in pairs. They play quick games of "pierre, feuille, ciseaux" to see who will be able to move forward a certain number of spaces on the game board.

The following sentences are written in French on the game board, and it’s fun way to get them speaking more French during the game if they say them when they win:

⭐ La pierre écrase les ciseaux.

⭐ La feuille enveloppe la pierre.

⭐ Les ciseaux découpent la feuille.

When a student lands on a space, he conjugates and translates the verb written on it using the subject pronoun provided. Winning is easy, as long as you're the first one to reach la fin!

The instructions are written in English, so this will be an easy activity for you to leave for a non-French speaking substitute teacher on days when you can't be there.

This French reading comprehension activity will teach your students about the Tour de France.   The Tour de France is one of the most difficult athletic competitions in the world. Three weeks of blisters, crashes, and mountain ascents make it a true test of athletic endurance. Learn about the largest sporting event in the world in this reading activity for intermediate/advanced French learners.

 It is suitable for novice-high/intermediate-low students with teacher guidance and higher-level students to work independently.  If you teach AP French, this reading can be useful in giving your students practice reading nonfiction articles for the interpretive section of the test.  The reading can lead to discussion or writing activities to include the other two modes of communication.
