There are many ways you can use this set of 35 speaking cards:

➤ Print, laminate, cut out, punch holes and attach on a ring for small groups to ask and answer questions.

➤ Use as a warm-up speaking activity or ice breaker with a conversation partner. As students enter the classroom have them choose 2-3 cards from a box.

➤ Students who finish their work earlier than others can choose a few of the cards and write out their answers including reasons for their preferences.

➤ Use as exit tickets. Give each student a card before the end of class and as they walk out of the room they tell the teacher their answer.

➤ Stations: Put students into groups and divide the cards amongst them. Have groups rotate to a new station as they finish the cards.

➤ Use the cards with board games. Students must answer a question in order to move.

➤ Use the cards as a getting to know you activity or ice breaker at the beginning of the year or at a French club event.

Want your French students to have some fun practicing the French verb AVOIR in the present tense with a fun, hands on activities? This LOW PREP French Grammar and conjugation game about the French verb AVOIR in the present tense is a fun way to encourage your French beginner students to keep up with the grammar they learn. Quel Dommage games add a little competition and fun to grammar. Your students will also practice speaking and pronunciation! The verb avoir is essential to forming a strong base knowledge of French, yet it can be difficult to master without lots of practice and review.

Detailed instructions are included so that your students can play even when you need to be away and a sub has your class.

Here's how the QUEL DOMMAGE game works:

STEP 1

• Print the game cards on heavy paper or card stock and cut them out.
• Laminate the cards

STEP 2

• Put all of the game pieces in a box and divide your students into small teams.
• Give each team gets a box of questions and a copy of the answer key.
• Students must replace the underlined words in the sentences with pronouns (for example) and say the sentence correctly. When they are correct, they get to keep their game card. However, when they draw a QUEL DOMMAGE card they have to put all of their game cards back in the box.
• The student with the most game cards at the end is the winner.
