Art Projects Klimt Tree of Life | Mixed Media Art Project

These mixed media projects are based on Gustav Klimt’s artwork Tree of Life.  Let the metallic colors and vivid imagery inspire your students’ creativity as they explore different materials in these cross-curricular projects

This lesson is highly engaging, multidisciplinary, and uses a variety of materials that can be modified for what you have on hand.  Set up stations and let your students choose a project, rotate through and complete multiple projects, or design their own using these projects as inspiration.  This project is designed for upper elementary (3rd-5th grade) students but can be easily adapted for middle school.

Kingdom of Sweets Project Research

They will pick one of the "realms" or regions based on the realms represented in the Nutcracker Ballet (when visiting after Marie/Clara rescues the Nutcracker/Prince). Children/students can practice following instructions and requirements by following the assignment's instructions. Two options are available to complete the report. 1. Predesigned Research Page or 2. Written Research Report (with introduction and conclusion). An optional presentation extension is available for students to create a project based on architecture, dress, or food research done on their report. Rubrics and student instructions are available for each report/and the Presentation.

Color Wheel Art Lesson Elementary | Back to School Art Lesson | Plaster Art Proj

Great beginning of year project for upper elementary (4th grade and up) and middle school students! This plaster project has everything to start a successful year in the classroom - high student engagement, multiple project variations to finish plaster colors wheels with different media, worksheets for off-task or disruptive students, plus step-by-step instructions with photos - to guarantee an excellent outcome for your students, even if you have never used plaster before. A bonus for this project is after students make their own color wheel, they can use it for the rest of the school year as they work on other art projects.

If you have not worked with plaster in the elementary classroom, don't worry! This lesson includes specific instructions and tips for successfully using plaster with your students. Also included is a guide for ordering plaster with a formula for determining how much material you need to order.
