6th Grade St. Patrick's Day Resources (by date, oldest first)

Need a fun way to introduce Microsoft Excel to upper elementary or middle school students? This great lesson incorporates St. Patrick's Day themed art as students learn the basics of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. First, they'll create a quick pixel art from a given example and then they'll create their own! These are also fun lessons to use if you just need something for a one day lesson.

This lesson is great for distance learning/remote learning. You can upload it to your school's learning management system (Google Classroom, Edmodo, Canvas, etc.) or share with students via Google Drive.

In this lesson, students learn fun facts about St. Patrick’s Day as they complete a WebQuest (Internet Scavenger Hunt) to answer questions about the topic. A complete answer key is provided for easy grading, along with resources for both teachers and students. Two versions of the WebQuest are included to let teachers print the questions or to provide them digitally as an interactive page in an editable Microsoft PowerPoint file.  Additionally, a word search puzzle (with answer key) is included to use for early finishers or as a part of the lesson.

This lesson was designed for middle school (grades 6-8) but could be used in upper elementary as well.

20 Questions French Game - La Saint Patrick - St. Patrick's Day Game - Printable Use this game to have students practice forming questions and speaking French using vocabulary for St. Patrick's Day in French. No prep, just print and you're ready to go! Included: French and English version French only version Have students work in small groups of 2-4 or project the game and do a whole class activity. This game includes 40 words. Many of the words will be new to your students as this game is meant not only to practice forming questions, but also to build vocabulary. I like to allow my students to look at the game chart while they play until they’re somewhat familiar with the words. One student in the small group or class chooses a word on the chart. Other students ask up to 20 questions trying to guess the secret word. La Saint Patrick - French Dots and Boxes Activity

An easy and fun no-prep game that will elicit a lot of exposure to 24 different St. Patrick's Day French themed words. This is a one-page dots & boxes game including directions. This game could be laminated and used repeatedly with dry-erase markers or played on an iPad with annotation/whiteboard tools.

Objective: Complete more boxes than your opponent. Each player draws lines using a different color. On your turn, make a horizontal or vertical line from one dot to another. Say the words on either side of the line you drew. If you complete a box on your turn, draw an X in the box using your color. Once all of the boxes have been completed, count to see who got the most.

These easy and fun no-prep French activities provide a lot of exposure to verbs, conjugations, themed vocabulary, numbers, telling time, and more. These one-page dots & boxes games include directions at the top of each page. The games can be laminated and used repeatedly with dry-erase markers.

How to play (written at the top of each page): Complete more boxes than your opponent. Each player draws lines using a different color. On your turn, make a horizontal or vertical line from one dot to another. Say the words on either side of the line you drew. If you complete a box on your turn, draw an X in the box using your color. Once all of the boxes have been completed, count to see who got the most.

This product is a digital puzzle that requires students to complete 25 comparing fractions equations with different denominators. The link to the digital puzzle is on a clickable PDF that you would download once purchased. Students will put the symbols, <,>, or = in the answer box. This activity is no prep and is self checking. If the student puts the correct answer in, the answer box will turn green and a piece of the digital puzzle will appear in the green box to the right. If the student puts in the wrong answer, the answer box will turn red and no puzzle piece will appear. Students will know that they have completed the activity correctly when all answer boxes are green and all 25 puzzle pieces are there, forming a picture of a leprechaun. Also included are work pages for students to use while they are completing the digital puzzle. Students can choose between work pages that have "the butterfly method" in all of the boxes or blank pages allowing students to use whatever method for comparison that they want.

This product would be great for fast finishers, independent practice, a time filler activity, day before break activity, center work, etc. Students will love this activity and the challenge of completing the puzzle!

This resource is bulletin board letters that have a green, shamrock background with a black outline. It includes all 26 letters, (A-Z), an exclamation mark, period and apostrophe so that you can make whatever saying/phrase that you want. These letters would be great for a St. Patrick's Day bulletin board!

This bulletin board features the phrase "One Lucky Class" with the word lucky outlined and featuring a shamrock background in each letter. This bulletin board has an optional writing portion in a cute circular pattern where students can write a brief paragraph on the prompt "I'm lucky because..." This bulletin board also comes with editable leprechauns so that you can easily turn your students and yourself into leprechauns for St. Patrick's Day! Simply upload pictures of your students faces into the template onto the body, then move the hat and beard onto the picture. You can easily resize all of the leprechaun pieces as needed!
