Make learning about Ireland and Saint Patrick's Day and Irish culture and history fun with this no-prep digital escape game.  This game includes access to a website where your students will hunt for the keys to unlock a set of locks.  Students will need to read the clues very carefully and watch videos, visit websites, and read texts to find the information they need to win the game.  Very easy to use - just send your students to the website and let them work!  Students can play individually or in teams.

Digital escape games are a fun way to start a unit, or to review at the end of a unit.  They can also be used to learn about a cultural or historical event.  This game will have your students reading carefully and paying attention to the smallest details in order to complete the challenge and unlock the locks.

• In the second task, students must order the plot events of Clement Clarke Moore's famous poem, 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, on Freytag's Pyramid. Once solved, corresponding letters reveal the second code.
• In the third task, students will read 8 fun facts about Christmas and must identify the parts of speech of underlined words within the passages. When matched correctly, shaded boxes will reveal the third code.
• In the fourth task, students must correct commonly confused words (like except and accept) in passages about how Christmas is celebrated around the world. Once complete, they must unscramble shaded boxes to reveal the fourth code.

Hanukkah Kwanzaa Christmas Diwali ESCAPE ROOM: Your students are stuck in your classroom and cannot leave for vacation until they solve 5 challenging Language Arts skills-based tasks about Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Diwali, and Christmas around the world.

• In the first task, students must read fun facts about Diwali, each demonstrating 1 of 6 comma rules. Students must match the fact with the comma rule. The code is revealed when cards are matched correctly.
• In the second task, students must perform a close reading of Hanukkah Lights by Philip M. Raskin (1880-1944) and answer multiple choice questions about the selection that when correct, reveal the code.
• In the third task, students will read 8 fun facts about how Christmas is celebrated in different countries around the world and must identify the parts of speech of underlined words within the passages. When matched correctly, shaded boxes will reveal the third code.
• In the fourth task, students must correct commonly misspelled words a passage about the origins of Kwanzaa. Once complete, they must unscramble shaded boxes to reveal the fourth code.

20 Questions French Game - La Saint Patrick - St. Patrick's Day Game - Printable Use this game to have students practice forming questions and speaking French using vocabulary for St. Patrick's Day in French. No prep, just print and you're ready to go! Included: French and English version French only version Have students work in small groups of 2-4 or project the game and do a whole class activity. This game includes 40 words. Many of the words will be new to your students as this game is meant not only to practice forming questions, but also to build vocabulary. I like to allow my students to look at the game chart while they play until they’re somewhat familiar with the words. One student in the small group or class chooses a word on the chart. Other students ask up to 20 questions trying to guess the secret word. 20 questions games are a fun, effective, NO PREP way to practice forming French questions. Click on individual game links for specific details on each version. This bundle saves you 50%. These games work for any level as they are written in French and English. Want a real challenge for your upper levels or immersion students? Use the French only version!

Included with each game:

1 version with vocabulary written in French and English

1 version with vocabulary written in French only

Have students work in small groups of 2-4 or project the game and use it as a whole class activity.

Many of the words may be new to your students as this game is meant not only to practice forming questions, but also to build vocabulary. I like to allow my students to look at the game chart while they play until they’re somewhat familiar with the words. After they've played the games a few times looking at the French-English version they feel more prepared to move on to the French only version.

One student in the small group or class chooses a word on the chart. Other students ask up to 20 questions trying to guess the secret word.

The student who has chosen the secret word can answer using the following responses: OUI - NON - PARFOIS - RAREMENT - GÉNÉRALEMENT - PEUT-ÊTRE - CELA DÉPEND - PROBABLEMENT

Alternative game play:

To change up the game and to make it more challenging as well as practicing other skills, have the student who chooses the secret word describe it to others in the group. Instead of asking questions about the secret word, other students listen to the description and guess it.
