Are you looking for a French dictée - dictation exercise with a présenter quelqu'un theme for your beginner level students? Do you struggle to find themed dictées that match beginner level French grammar?

Dictées are great activities for building listening comprehension and writing skills. This is a beginner level French dictée with a présenter quelqu'un theme.

Included:

• Ten sentences
• Theme - Présenter quelqu'un
• Basic grammar
• Present tense - être, aller, avoir, faire
• Present tense - regular ER verbs
• Definite, indefinite, and partitive articles

Included:

➯ Video presentation of the dictée. Watch me and listen as I read each sentence two times slowly enough to understand and write at the same time. Many non-natives find it makes the listening comprehension part of dictation exercises more manageable to see the speaker's mouth. Once I've finished reading the dictation, I will present each written sentence in French along with the English translation. Once we've gone through all of the sentences and students have checked their work, I will present the complete text in paragraph form on the screen. At that time, we can slowly read through the complete text together so they can see how the separate sentences actually form a short story.

➯ Audio presentation of the dictée.. Listen as I read each sentence two times slowly enough to understand and write at the same time. This version of the exercise will be more challenging as students will not see the speaker's mouth.

➯ PDF of the numbered sentences in the dictée and the English translation.

➯ Numbered student response sheet. This is located on page 2 of the PDF.

The direct objects in this worksheet are not underlined, which encourages students to ask the questions what or who to identify them. 14 of the sentences are written in the present tense, and there is one in the futur proche. Conjugate Souffrir - Present Tense French Conjugation Board Game

This French board game for conjugating souffrir in the present tense includes 37 numbered boxes. The first player to reach box 37 wins. There are a few tricks along the way, so getting to the end isn’t always so easy! Some boxes require students to conjugate the verb using the provided subject pronoun, and others require them to name the subject pronoun that matches the verb conjugation. Lots of repetition will really help them to memorize this important verb! This resource is included in my French Verbs Like Ouvrir Bundle.

In groups of two to four, players take turns rolling a die to move their pieces forward. Spaces are numbered to keep track of which way they’re moving. There are some spaces with special instructions:

• Départ - Start
• Avance de 5 cases - Move forward 5 spaces
• Recule de 5 cases - Move backward 5 spaces
• Rejoue - Play again
• Tu perds ton tour - Lose a turn
• Fin - End

For an extra challenge and to extend playing time, you can tell your students that they have to land directly on the last square and answer it correctly to win.

Form present tense and futur proche sentences using the French verb ALLER. Worksheet includes ten sentences to reconstruct: conjugate verbs, add articles and prepositions when necessary, make agreement, etc.

If you need an entertaining French Halloween reading passage with listening comprehension activities that are ready to use, your students will love L'ÉPOUVANTAIL, a spooky (but not too scary) story that will leave them wanting more! You'll know how to keep your students engaged during the Halloween week with the bundle which includes 5 different reading and listening comprehension activities. Recommended lesson plan for reading comprehension:

STEP 1:  Distribute the vocabulary list, and read the words aloud having students repeat after you.  All of the words listed are in the story they will read, and many of them may be new.  

STEP 2:  Distribute the 10 reading comprehension questions.  Have students read them before reading the story for greater understanding of the information they will need to retain.

STEP 3:  Distribute the 1 page story, and either have students read it silently, or read it together as a class with the teacher calling on individual students to read a passage aloud. 

STEP 4:  Students answer ten comprehension questions either in written form as they read silently, or do the exercise orally as a whole class activity once everyone has finished.

Recommended lesson plan for listening comprehension:

Mourir - Irregular Futur Simple French Tic Tac Toe Games - No Prep Printable

Tic Tac Toe is a fun game that your students already know how to play, and it is a simple way to get them conjugating, writing, and speaking the irregular verb mourir in the futur simple.

This resource includes two worksheets with 6 tic-tac-toe grids per page. One worksheet is for speaking answers, and the other one is for writing them. Photocopy on the front and back for a no-prep set of 12 grids for differentiated learning.

Students play in pairs, conjugating mourir so that it agrees with the subject pronoun in each box, saying answers aloud or writing them to claim squares on tic tac toe grids. Three correctly conjugated verbs in a row wins the game. Students need to use different colored pens or markers when writing their answers.
