There are many ways you can use this set of task cards:

➤ Print, laminate, cut out, punch holes and attach on a ring for small groups to ask and answer questions.

➤ Project the pdf file in class to work in group or with your whole class and avoid printing.

➤ Use as a warm-up speaking activity with a conversation partner. As students enter the classroom have them choose 2-3 cards from a box.

➤ Students who finish their work earlier than others can choose a few of the cards and write out correct answers to false statements.

➤ Use as exit tickets. Give each student a card before the end of class and as they walk out of the room they tell the teacher their answer.

➤ Stations: Put students into groups and divide the cards amongst them. Have groups rotate to a new station as they finish the cards.

➤ Scoot: Put one card on each desk in the classroom. Give each student a response sheet and set a timer to give them just enough time to answer true or false and to correct the false statements. When the timer rings students move on to the next desk and the next question. All cards are numbered so it is simple to stay organized. Full instructions are included.

➤ Use the cards with board games. Students must answer a question in order to move.

➤ Use the cards as an icebreaker activity.

Want your Spanish students to learn about Day of the Dead , but  reading comprehension is getting boring in your Spanish class?  Turn it into a game!  This mystery-solving reading about Día de Muertos  goes from dull to exciting as students work together and move around the room to solve a mystery!  This is a simple “print and go” with no work for the teacher!  Use the same lesson plan for all of your classes, regardless of level, because your differentiation is already done!

   Students investigate with Maria, a young person from Mexico, while she tries to understand more about a former member of her town.  He visits the townspeople all year, not just during Día de Muertos.  Why can’t he rest in peace?   While they read the parts, they are also looking for “code words”.  Students record the code words on a special answer sheet that will eventually lead them to solving the mystery of how/why he died.   It’s so much fun! 

    After, you can decide which of the 4 follow-up activities you want to do with your students.  There are 4; a True or False Activity to check for basic comprehension, a graphic organizer for students to learn more about the specific items related to Day of the Dead, a “tell me in your own words” activity,  and a writing follow up where students use their reading comprehension and critical thinking to invent an explanation for who this lost soul was and why he died the way he did.  Answer key to the True/False is also included.  Best of all?  If there’s something you’d like to change for your students, you are free to edit!

The reading cards are written in English for your Novice classes, and Spanish for Intermediate classes.  The questions are written for Novice in English and answers will be in English as well. And for Intermediate, the questions and answers will be in Spanish.  The same for the instructions and mission!  Students get the benefit of learning about a cultural event while using teamwork!

French 101 Beginning French Workbook

Ideal for independent study, worksheets, notes and visuals to help students learn French.

I created this with myself as a student in mind. I remember what helped me as a French student and wanted to create something similar.

This workbook contains more than 66 pages!

French Antonyms - Opposite Words

Learning opposite words is a fantastic way for students to increase their French vocabulary. This resource includes 135 words to learn. You'll get a downloadable list that you can distribute, and links to two study sets to help students practice and master all of these words. Have them start with the French - English set, then move on to the French - French set for a real challenge! This resource is included in my French Antonyms Bundle.

Students can have some fun while learning this huge list of really useful French words and their opposites as they work on 4 crossword puzzles. The puzzles give the English word and ask for the French equivalent. IMPORTANT: Only masculine forms of adjectives are used, and no accent marks are required. Answer keys are included.

Now for a real challenge that is a lot of fun with a partner or small group! Download your set of 135 practice strips, print, and hook together with a ring. You're going to really up their game with all of this new vocabulary! It's a nice break to move away from the screen sometimes. You'll be able to pull these out and have your students practice at any time.

Here's an example of what they say:

Si ce n'est pas beau, c'est quoi?

Answers are to be given in complete sentences. For example:

Si ce n'est pas beau, c'est moche!

You'll also get three sets of practice cards (64 cards each) which will allow students to see how these antonyms are used in context.  One set is for reading aloud with or without a partner.  The other sets require students to fill in the blanks with the missing opposite words.  

Example:

SET 1:  "Mon sac est trop lourd."  "Enlève des livres et il sera plus léger."

SET 2:  "Mon sac est trop lourd."  "Enlève des livres et il sera plus _______."​
SET 3:  "Mon sac est trop _______."  "Enlève des livres et il sera plus léger."​

Do your students struggle with the conjugating verbs in the present tense? Then this amazing fairy tale activity is just what you've been looking for! This awesome resource with the classic story of la Bella Durmiente is an easy-to-use and low-prep way to practice the present tense, along with reading comprehension skills.

Students love these stories because they are stories that they are already familiar with, making them more comprehensible, turning this dry and boring grammar topic into something engaging and fun!

The familiar story of Sleeping Beauty is a perfect way to practice and assess your students’ knowledge of the present tense in Spanish with easy differentiation.

This file includes two versions of the same story:

• Version A has the verbs already conjugated, and the students must choose between two different forms of the verb.
• Version A also includes true/false comprehension questions and students must correct the false statements.
• Version B includes only the infinitive, so they must fill in the blank with the correct present tense form of the verb.
• Version B also includes comprehension questions to be answered in complete sentences in Spanish.

Both versions of the story are two pages long, with a separate page of comprehension questions. The two different versions make differentiation simple!

Also included in this download is:

The workbook is suitable for students in grades 8th to 11th and is entirely in Spanish.

One of the primary features of this workbook is that it ties in nicely with the ENTRE Culturas program, which provides students with an opportunity to explore various aspects of Latin American culture.

The workbook includes activities that encourage students to use the language they are learning to engage with the culture and history of Ecuador.

Entre Culturas 2 Unit 1 includes various activities designed to improve students' vocabulary;

• Word search puzzles that require students to find and identify specific vocabulary words related to the themes covered in the workbook.
• Crossword puzzles that challenge students to think creatively and use their knowledge of Spanish vocabulary to complete the puzzles.
• Grammar exercises in the workbook are designed to help students master the fundamental rules of Spanish grammar. There are exercises on stem-changers, prepositions, and comparisons, all of which are essential components of Spanish grammar. These exercises provide students with a solid foundation in grammar that will serve them well as they continue to study the language.
• Writing exercises to help students practice their writing skills. There are prompts for creative writing that encourage students to use their imagination and express themselves in Spanish. Additionally, there are exercises that require students to write short paragraphs or essays on specific topics, helping them develop their writing skills in a more structured manner.
• Extended vocabulary section, which is designed to help students build their Spanish vocabulary beyond the basics.

Quick, easy, and engaging Jeopardy style game to review French faire expressions in the present tense. This PowerPoint game is editable. You can easily substitute any of the vocabulary to accommodate your class. Do not edit any other part of this game because the exciting sound features, daily double, and final jeopardy will no longer work.

Engage your novice level Spanish students with this entertaining set of reading activities and comprehension questions! This no-prep activity would be great for students who are practicing family, birthdays, and restaurant vocabulary and contains vocabulary concepts of present tense irregulars (like tener and venir) and ser vs. estar.
