Cette ressource vous fournira tout ce dont vous avez besoin pour donner à vos élèves des occasions de discussions et de réflexions constructives sur la journée du chandail rose, l'intimidation et la défense les uns des autres. L'objectif principal de ce document est d'amener les élèves à connaître les signes d'intimidation et à savoir qu'ils peuvent être une partie du problème ou une partie de la solution. This French Thanksgiving themed reading and listening comprehension lesson is meant for upper-intermediate levels.  The content will appeal to upper elementary or middle school immersion and even core curriculum high school students.  The story is read by François, a Parisian native French speaker.

Included:

• Story - 1 page printable, approximately 300 words
• Vocabulary list - French and English - 1 page printable
• 10 comprehension questions - 1  page printable
• Audio recording of the story - Native French speaker

Recommended lesson plan for reading comprehension:

STEP 1:  Distribute the vocabulary list, and read the words aloud having students repeat after you.  All of the words listed are in the story they will read, and many of them may be new.  

STEP 2:  Distribute the 10 reading comprehension questions.  Have students read them before reading the story for greater understanding of the information they will need to retain.

• 1 Story - 1 page printable, approximately 300 words
• Vocabulary list - French and English - 1 page printable
• 10 comprehension questions - 1  page printable
• Audio recording of the story - Native French speaker

Recommended lesson plan for reading comprehension:

STEP 1:  Distribute the vocabulary list, and read the words aloud having students repeat after you.  All of the words listed are in the story they will read, and many of them may be new.  

STEP 2:  Distribute the 10 reading comprehension questions.  Have students read them before reading the story for greater understanding of the information they will need to retain.

STEP 3:  Distribute the 1 page story, and either have students read it silently, or read it together as a class with the teacher calling on individual students to read a passage aloud. 

STEP 4:  Students answer ten comprehension questions either in written form as they read silently, or do the exercise orally as a whole class activity once everyone has finished.

Here's how the QUEL DOMMAGE game works:

STEP 1

• Print the game cards on heavy paper or card stock and cut them out.
• Laminate the cards

STEP 2

• Put all of the game pieces in a box and divide your students into small teams.
• Give each team gets a box of questions and a copy of the answer key.
• Students must replace the underlined words in the sentences with pronouns (for example) and say the sentence correctly. When they are correct, they get to keep their game card. However, when they draw a QUEL DOMMAGE card they have to put all of their game cards back in the box.
• The student with the most game cards at the end is the winner.

One player tries to get his teammate to guess the word at the top of a card. The player must give clues, but he can't use any of the Taboo words in his description. The taboo words are written beneath the underlined word at the top of the card.

French Taboo Games Growing Bundle

Classic French Taboo Games Bundle - 3 Versions

Object of the game:

One player tries to get his teammate to guess the word at the top of a card. The player must give clues, but he can't use any of the Taboo words in his description. The taboo words are written beneath the underlined word at the top of the card.

Teams score points for each word successfully guessed. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Beginner students should be allowed to use the French TABOO words printed on the cards. This will encourage them to use new vocabulary and will help them in forming sentences to use as clues.

This is a quick, ready to go French lesson to teach 20 common avoir expressions. This lesson breaks down the tricky differences between French and English when using these expressions. This lesson makes teaching the concept of French avoir expressions accessible, understandable, and most of all fast, easy, and no prep for you!
