By Write On with Jamie

Do your students groan every time you mention grammar and vocabulary? Here is everything you need to start teaching conventions, mechanics, usage, punctuation, capitalization, spelling, sentence structure, sentence types, and proofreading in your classroom today! This program is ideal for a “Do Now” or “Bell Ringer” when students enter the classroom. It’s a fantastic way to start the learning immediately without the loss of instructional time.

*****************************************************************************************

Grammar on the Go! 8th Grade tells the story of a typical student’s school experience from the first day of eighth grade until the day before summer vacation. Along the way, the student makes new friends, finds new interests, and battles with homework, PE, lockers, and other dilemmas faced by middle school students. The story is a fun look at middle school, told from the perspective of an 8th grader. This is Unit 2 of 10 Units.

The slide shows and worksheets allow students to practice and develop their proofreading and conventions skills. The assessment reinforces guided note-taking techniques when used in conjunction with the PowerPoints. The detailed lesson plans make implementing conventions practice and proofreading techniques easy for teachers.

These lessons are adaptable for in-class instruction, distance learning, or independent student work. The PowerPoints can be presented as whole class instruction or assigned for students to complete at home.

All materials are available in both Google Drive™ and print formats, ensuring easy access for all students.
