$5 - $10 9th Grade Graphic Organizers (by price, low to high)

Do you start off your class with a quick poll or check-in question? This set of French conversation prompts graphics can be used from day one to get students using French. This set has 100 different graphics that you can use in Desmos, Nearpod, Peardeck, or on a social media post to get input from your students. You can also just post in Teams, on a smartboard, or anywhere you can share a jpg image. Each graphic gives them a choice of four different things - and one's gotta go! You can use it in different levels by adjusting the task.

Level 1 - from the beginning, you can have them just choose between options A, B, C and D. Get lots of comprehensible input by having a class discussion about who wants to get rid of each item. Later on, have them write complete sentences starting with "je choisis."

Level 2 - have students start to add more detail to their responses. Tell them to include details - why did they choose the item they did? Have them write more complex sentences explaining why they think their item should go.

Level 3 - have students make their choice and then talk about why they are getting rid of the item and why the other three items get to stay.

Some graphics have very basic vocabulary, some have more advanced items - but all are easy to understand due to the images. There are also some cultural graphics mixed in.

• Cut out the game pieces for each group, laminate them, and place them in Ziplock bags. Also, laminate the game card.
• Prepare and charge Ipads and/or make computers available for those who wish to gather population distribution information from Census.com and StatisticsTimes.com.
• Print off Exit Cards and Population Pyramid Presentation Grading Rubric.

Government legislative structure can be hard to understand and grasp, especially when you are discussing types of government systems around the world. Who makes the laws and who approves the laws? Who is the head of government? What is a unicameral versus a bicameral legislation? This printable graphic show students examples of head of state and head of government such as monarchs, presidents, prime ministers, and chancellors. What is culture and how do we learn our culture?

Is it the make up of both visible and invisible characteristics? What are these visible and invisible traits that we learn through enculturation from those influences around us? This lesson covers topics from cultural diffusion & assimilation to globalization & space-time compression to cultural landscape & multiculturalism and taboos to subculture. You student will have a complete understanding of all things "culture". Please Note: The instructor/teacher will need to know and understand the concept of REGIONS as this is a concept difficult for young brains to grasp. Even though we simplify it for students, we will need to be ready to verbally or visually explain the concept. Not all students are ready for this high-level concept. This lesson simplifies it as much as possible, but the concept, no matter how simplified, still requires high-level thinking skills and teacher guidance. It takes practice to identify the formal, functional, and perceptual regions. If the instructor/teacher doesn't understand regions, it will be difficult to instruct. This lesson is much better than our textbooks provide. Must be modified to fit your needs, this may mean omitting some of the activ_ities included in_ this lesson.

This is a group reading activity with a graphic organizer comprehension activity, an at-home interview assignment (Optional), and a Powerpoint for assessment.

I often found when I was teaching the 5 Geographical Themes, students grasp location, place, human-environment interaction & movement (ideas, people, goods), but they struggle with regions: formal, functional, and perceptual.

What is the difference between a formal, functional, and perceptual region?

What is a nodal point? How can there be regions that cannot be measured and are specifically based on feelings and perceptions? Can all regions be found on a map? Do they always have a clearly defined boundary?

This PowerPoint provides 7 scenarios in which students are required to decipher whether it is a formal, functional, or perceptual region. You can use it as an introduction or review. You may implement this in different ways.

In We Beat The Street, Sampson, Rameck, and George live in dangerous and underprivileged neighborhoods in Newark, New Jersey. The three boys grow up surrounded by violence, drugs, and gang activity. All three of the authors face both positive and negative Peer Pressure that ultimately impact the choices they make as well as their future lives.

This resource is a differentiated writing packet related to Peer Pressure. Students will write about the positive and negative influences of Peer Pressure that the three boys experience. Students can decide which author to write about. Graphic organizers are included to assist students in developing their essays. They must also cite specific evidence from the text to support their analysis.
