Italian lesson Plan Comprehensible Input Fa male!
By Frenchified
Make learning Italian fun with this simple, comprehensible input Italian lesson plan and story. This lesson plan includes a story with targeted structures that can be repeated to give your students lots of repetitions. Comprehension activities to use after the story will allow you to engage your students and makes sure that your Italian lesson is truly comprehensible input.
Dad is watching the kids while mom's at work, but they keep ending up getting hurt. Will they make it through the day, or will disaster strike? There are four targeted vocabulary structures that are used multiple times throughout the story. The targeted structures are:
mi fa male
mi sono rotto/mi sono rotta
tu invece dovresti
Coasa facevi?
This very simple story is told in two different ways. There is a printable text version, and an animated mp4 version. Tell the story as you watch it (pause if you want to stop and discuss or storyask!), or just watch it for comprehension. The video is just over 5 minutes long, with pause time for students to read the text. There is a second version of the video with only the illustrations - no text - so you can watch it and do story retells. With novice low and novice mid learners, you can tell the story as is. For novice high learners, you can add more details or write a parallel story. You could even use this story at higher levels by having students retell the story in the past.
Here’s what you’ll get in this Italian Comprehensible Input Lesson:
• Links to the videos both with and without the text
• A printable pdf version of the story
• Comprehension question worksheet
• "Who said it?" worksheet
• Story retell worksheet
• Answer key

➯ Video presentation of the dictée. Watch me and listen as I read each sentence two times slowly enough to understand and write at the same time. Many non-natives find it makes the listening comprehension part of dictation exercises more manageable to see the speaker's mouth. Once I've finished reading the dictation, I will present each written sentence in French along with the English translation. Once we've gone through all of the sentences and students have checked their work, I will present the complete text in paragraph form on the screen. At that time, we can slowly read through the complete text together so they can see how the separate sentences actually form a short story.
➯ Audio presentation of the dictée.. Listen as I read each sentence two times slowly enough to understand and write at the same time. This version of the exercise will be more challenging as students will not see the speaker's mouth.

Memories from the Year Video Project - End of Year Activity | Distance Learning
By Innovations in Technology
Memories from the Year (video project) gives students an opportunity to share their memories from the school year as a culminating activity to the year. It uses the Web 2.0 tool, WeVideo, which is convenient for teachers and students since it does not require download. Students use existing pictures and videos or shoot additional ones and then combine those with WeVideo’s built in music to create a video retrospective of the year. The project was created for 7th and 8th graders but could easily be adapted to use with upper elementary through early high school.
This lesson is great for distance learning/remote learning. You can upload it to your school's learning management system (Google Classroom, Edmodo, Canvas, etc.) or share with students via Google Drive.
Files Included with this Lesson
• Teacher & Student Notes and Resources
• Video Project Instructions, Expectations & Grading Rubric
• Video Planning Worksheet

There are three targeted vocabulary structures that are used multiple times throughout the story. The targeted structures are:
un regalo perfecto - the perfect gift
quiero darle - he wants to give him/her
en su bolsillo - in his/her pocket
This very simple story is told in two different ways. There is a printable text version, and an animated mp4 version. Tell the story as you watch it (pause if you want to stop and discuss or storyask!), or just watch it for comprehension. The video is just over 5 minutes long, with pause time for students to read the text. There is a second version of the video with only the illustrations - no text - so you can watch it and do story retells. With novice low and novice mid learners, you can tell the story as is. For novice high learners, you can add more details or write a parallel story. You could even use this story at higher levels by having students retell the story in the past.
Here’s what you’ll get in this Spanish Comprehensible Input Lesson:
• Links to the videos both with and without the text
• A printable pdf version of the story
• Comprehension question worksheet

Included:
➯ PDF of the numbered sentences in the dictée and the English translation.
➯ Numbered student response sheet. This is located on page 2 of the PDF.
➯ The following dictées are included in Bundled Set 1:
➯ The following dictées are included in Bundled Set 2:
"Dictation is the transcription of spoken text: one person who is "dictating" speaks and another who is "taking dictation" writes down the words as they are spoken. Among speakers of several languages, dictation is used as a test of language skill, similar to spelling bees in the English-speaking world."
