Less than $5 9th Grade Internet Activities

Make learning about the US Constitution interesting with this no-prep digital escape game.  The game includes access to a website where your students will hunt for the keys to unlock a set of locks.  Students will need to read the clues very carefully and watch videos, visit websites, and read texts to find the information they need to win the game.  Very easy to use - just send your students to the website and let them work!  Students can play individually or in teams.

Digital escape games are a fun way to start a unit, or to review at the end of a unit.  They can also be used to learn about a cultural or historical event.  This game will have your students reading carefully and paying attention to the smallest details in order to complete the challenge and unlock the locks.

• Answer key so you can help students if they get stuck!

Your students will enjoy learning without even realizing that they are learning!  The challenging game format will get them excited about finding the code to unlock each lock - and the format of the clues for each lock will have them paying close attention - there's no way to solve the puzzles  without being 100% focused!

Prep is very easy - you just need to share the website URL with your students.  You may want to test the site before you use it, just to make sure nothing is blocked by your district.  As some of the clues can be challenging to unlock, you may choose to help your students with the trickier ones.  With the teacher guide, you will have the answer key - so you can help guide students towards the correct answer by giving them hints, or if you have limited time, you can adjust the game by reducing the number of locks they need to unlock - just give them the answer(s) to help the activity fit your time constraints.

This is one of my students' favorite projects and a great way to wrap up a unit on clothing. In this project, students will embark on a virtual shopping adventure to purchase clothing items for a family in need. With $600 American dollars collected for a family affected by a recent house fire, students will use their language skills to navigate an authentic French online store to select clothing items for a family of four. My fashionistas get particularly into this one!

Students will:

• Translate their American dollars into Euros

• Browse through clothing categories

• Convert to European sizes

• Add items to their virtual shopping cart

• Stay within a given budget

• Take notes on new French vocabulary encountered during their shopping experience.

• Complete a "Liste de Cadeaux" to document their purchases

• Prepare a brief oral presentation in French to share with the class.

This project not only reinforces essential language skills such as vocabulary acquisition and currency conversion but also promotes empathy, cultural awareness, and community engagement. This high-interest WebQuest will get students thinking about the impact of climate change on other people. Digital Student Portfolio Project for Google Sites

This digital student portfolio project for Google Sites is the perfect way to help your students showcase their work in a professional, organized, and user-friendly way. With this product, you can quickly create portfolios that highlight student work, achievements, and more. Plus, the digital portfolio can be easily shared with parents and administrators for viewing.

This project can range anywhere from 6th grade to 12th grade. Depending on the age, it takes them about 2-3 days to a week from my personal experience with my students.

This functional vocabulary kitchen tools activity is a fun and engaging way to teach identifying kitchen tools / utensils. Students need to know what tools are used in the kitchen when they are planning on cooking or working in a restaurant. Learning the tools found in the kitchen improve the life and work skills for all students.

Life Skills: Kitchen Tools Level 2 No Prep Unit provides direct instruction in familiarizing students with tools used in a kitchen. These skills will assist your students in becoming more independent in their daily life. There are 30 total self-grading Google Slides activity cards where the student will read the name of a kitchen tool. They will then choose the correct picture of that tool out of a choice of 3 tools. If the student chooses the “correct” slides, they will see a "correct" slide and if it is incorrect, they will see a "try again" slide and they will have an opportunity to try again. There is also a Title Page, Ways To Use Page, and Congratulations page. Additionally, 30 Total Offline, Interactive, self-grading activity cards in .pdf format AND 30 Task Cards are included.

I envisaged this to be a September week 1 internet activity. It will give students an opportunity to think about how other people perceive them. It could also be used as a lesson in how to search Google effectively or used as a dictionary / thesaurus activity, where students have to find descriptive words in order to search for appropriate pictures on Google Images.

These have been doing the rounds on FaceBook and email recently. You may have received posters / postcards entitled "Teachers...." or "Moms..." and then under the title are a series of photos with captions like;

Each caption is accompanied by an image of what that person thinks about the other person or group of people.

The sample here is of the "Teacher..." postcard. This is NOT what I am selling. I am selling a similar template entitled, "Students..." It is laid out the same as the teacher one with the same titles (the word teacher has been replaced with student), however, the pictures are missing. Students must search Google Images for appropriate pictures that characterize themselves. The photo titles are as follows;

Woody Allen's blockbuster movie, Midnight in Paris, a love-letter to the city of Paris! My students really love watching this movie! Even if the movie is in English, there are lots of follow up activities you can do in French with your students. In this lesson, students choose a woman they feel contributed something important to society and then create a presentation about her and the contribution. A variety of choices are offered for the student to choose from, and also to allow teachers to use this lesson with the software they have available. Included with the lesson are resources for the teacher to introduce the lesson (including video options), resources for student research, as well as links to tutorials for different software choices if they are choosing to challenge themselves with something new. The finished products may be shared with the class as a presentation, or can be displayed on student workstations for other students to do a learning walk and view. This lesson was created for 8th grade students but is appropriate for students in grades 6-9.
