Start by producing short sentences with community helper flashcards, then advance skills by using fill-in-the-blank sentence worksheets, sentence writing worksheets, and reading comprehension worksheets.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Kaboom! Game

• print out and cut up the numbered sentence cards and Kaboom! cards, laminate (optional)
• put them in a receptacle of your choice
• decide on how long you want to spend on this activity and set a timer
• pupils take turns pulling out a card and finishing or making a sentence using cues and picture prompts / answering questions
• if they say it right, they get to keep the card
• if they get it wrong, they put it back
• the next pupil takes a turn
• if they pull out a Kaboom! card, they put all their cards back, feel free to use as many (or as few) Kaboom! card as you wish
• pupil with the most cards at the end wins

Scoot Game

• use the numbered sentence cards, each student gets a recording sheet
• place one card on each student's desk. If you have fewer students than cards, feel free to not use the whole deck.
• plan a route, make sure your students understand which way they are supposed to move
• start the game by having each pupil write the answer to their card on their answer sheet
• when students are finished, call out "SCOOT" and they move to their neighbour's desk where they write the answer to the card on that desk
• call out "SCOOT" again, students move again, continue until students have answered all the cards
• answer sheets can be corrected with the whole group, in pairs or collected for a later correction

Sentence Dominoes

• print out and cut up, laminate (optional)
• to be used in pairs or small groups - print out a few copies
• pupils look for pairs - if clause with the corresponding main clause - which they place next to each other creating a line of matching cards and fill in personal pronouns

Pronouns are words that take the place of a Noun. For example “he, she, it, they”.

Working on nouns? Working with collective nouns can be both fun and frustrating at the same time! If your students need extra practice with identifying collective nouns, then this double set of task cards is just what you need! There are 64 task cards included in this product - 2 sets of 32 cards. Set one is multiple choice, set 2 asks students to identify and write the collective noun from the sentence. There are 4 bonus practice pages included!

This is a set of task cards for adverbs or adjectives and they’ll get you in the Christmas spirit with Santa! For each card, it must be identified as either and adverb or an adjective. There are other options for words to identify as well. These task cards are easily used for a game of SCOOT for some classroom fun as well!

INSTRUCTIONS:

Kaboom! Game

• print out and cut up the task cards and Kaboom! cards, laminate (optional)
• put them in a receptacle of your choice
• decide on how long you want to spend on this activity and set a timer
• pupils take turns pulling out a card and filling the missing word
• if they say it right, they get to keep the card X if they get it wrong, they put it back
• the next pupil takes a turn
• if they pull out a Kaboom! card, they put all their cards back, feel free to use as many (or as few) Kaboom! card as you wish
• pupil with the most cards at the end wins

Scoot Game

• each student gets a recording sheet
• place one card on each student's desk. use as many cards as you wish.
• plan a route, make sure your students understand which way they are supposed to move
• start the game by having each pupil write the answer to their card on their answer sheet
• when students are finished, call out "SCOOT" and they move to their neighbour's desk where they write the answer to the card on that desk
• call out "SCOOT" again, students move again, continue until students have answered all the cards
• answer sheets can be corrected with the whole group, in pairs or collected for a later correction

Connect 3 Sides Game

• students play in pairs, each pair gets a triangle game board and a pack of 28 task cards
• tip! - make the cards self-checking by writing the correct answer on the other side
• students win fields by answering correctly - the first player to connect all 3 sides of the triangle is the winner
