1st Grade Grammar Task Cards

This resource serves as a start-to-finish way to teach speech language therapy students or English language learners the correct form of present tense verbs. The use of community helpers naturally elicits present tense verbs, while also providing opportunity for vocabulary development. Start by producing short sentences with community helper flashcards, then advance skills by using fill-in-the-blank sentence worksheets, sentence writing worksheets, and reading comprehension worksheets.

Task Cards/Flash Cards can be used to drill correct use of present tense verbs in sentences. They can also be used as memory games or paired with motivating board games. Practice building words with affixes with these prefix and suffix puzzles. Students will have fun building words with prefixes and suffixes with this this literacy activity.

What is Included:

These 3 piece puzzles feature the root word and the prefix or suffix on the top puzzle pieces and the word with a picture clue on the bottom puzzle piece.

These puzzles are perfect for young learners who are being introduced to words that have common prefixes and suffixes.

When to Use

Other ways these puzzles can be used is to add magnets to the back of each piece and use a baking tray or magnetic board to build each word and match each word's definition.

Learn about affixes with these prefix and suffix posters. Each prefix and suffix has its own poster that features the affix, it's meaning, a word that uses the affix with a corresponding visual.

How to Use

• These affixes posters can be used as a classroom display.

Learn about affixes with these prefix and suffix activities. Each prefix and suffix has as least one reference card, poster and task card for students to practice identifying the different parts of the words and for defining the meanings of the words.

What is Included:

• Reference Cards - The smaller task box sized cards are available for students to use during activities or centers.
• Posters - The posters make a great classroom display for students to use while learning about affixes.
• Worksheets - These no prep worksheets allow teachers an easy to prepare activity for students to work on independently, as morning work or as homework.
• Task Cards - The task cards allow students to practice identifying prefixes and suffixes as well as writing the definitions of the words.
