Are you studying The Little Prince with your French learners? This French speaking activity will have your students engaged and reflecting in French about The Little Prince. These 30 French speaking prompt cards with insightful and thought provoking questions will trigger great discussions among your students about the wonderful book by Antoine de Saint Exupéry, Le Petit Prince.

You can also use the cards to teach them the vocabulary if you want. This activity is a fun way to encourage your students to speak more and engage in conversation. It is a perfect resource to use in immersion, core or homeschool curriculums.

You will have to read and study the book prior to using these questions.

You can use these cards after teaching specific vocabulary and grammar for le Petit Prince or as a fun interactive activity on a day when you want to just focus on speaking and reviewing vocabulary in a different way. There are many ways you can use this set of task cards:

• Print, laminate, create small groups to ask and answer questions.
• Project the pdf file in class to work in group or with your whole class and avoid printing.
• Use as a warm-up speaking activity with a conversation partner. As students enter the classroom have them choose 2-3 cards from a box.
• Students who finish their work earlier than others can choose a few of the cards and write out correct answers to false statements.
• Use as exit tickets. Give each student a card before the end of class and as they walk out of the room they tell the teacher their answer.
• Stations: Put students into groups and divide the cards amongst them. Have groups rotate to a new station as they finish the cards.
• Scoot: Put one card on each desk in the classroom. Give each student a response sheet and set a timer to give them just enough time to answer true or false and to correct the false statements. When the timer rings students move on to the next desk and the next question. All cards are numbered so it is simple to stay organized. Full instructions are included.

Use this set of INTERMEDIATE to UPPER-INTERMEDIATE FRENCH conversation prompt cards to get even your most timid students talking to each other in French. These 65 question cards are terrific for discussion and journal writing prompts. Each and every card is unique. Some are more advanced than others. Since there are so many of them you can easily print them, cut them out, and then sort them into stacks of different levels of difficulty for years and years of no-prep activities.

Game includes: game board (black and white and color copies included) 50 être passé composé game cards (reflexive verbs included) 50 avoir passé composé game cards (all regular verbs) 50 être or avoir passé composé game cards (regular and irregular + reflexives) How to play Not included: 1 die per group game tokens, 1 per player All you have to do is print the game cards that you want to use on heavy paper or card stock and cut them out. This grammar board game has a grid of 35 boxes. The first player to reach box 35 wins. There are lots of fun tricks along the way, so getting to the end isn’t always so easy! In groups of two to four, players take turns rolling a die to move their piece forward. Spaces are numbered and players follow the arrows to keep track of which way they’re moving. There are some spaces with special instructions: Départ - Start Avance de 5 cases - Move forward 5 spaces Recule de 5 cases - Move backward 5 spaces Rejoue - Play again Tu perds ton tour - Lose a turn Fin - End Use the passé composé question cards so that students must answer after rolling in order to move forward. If students answer the question correctly, they can move forward. If not, it’s the next player’s turn. There is a total of 150 playing cards. 50 of them can be used when teaching basic passé composé of regular verbs with avoir. There are also 50 that only use être, and another set of 50 to practice être or avoir with both regular and irregular verbs. All of the short sentences are written in the present tense, and some use negation. Students just need to restate the sentence in the passé composé. Engage and challenge your students when reviewing the French verb être in the present tense with this set of 100 challenge review cards. Take a look at the preview to see ways that you can use these grammar challenge cards in your French classroom.

This is a set of 100 cards to have your students practice conjugating the verb être while also reviewing many other beginner French grammar topics. These cards are only in French and are suitable for core French or immersion classes.

Use these cards to practice conjugating être along with:

• adjectives of emotion
• geographical locations
• places around town
• simple expressions
• c'est and ce sont

This resource includes two different sets of 50 practice cards (100 total) to help your students learn and master être in the present tense.

A list of vocabulary that is used in the practice cards with a quizlet study set is included.

SET 1 (see preview)

The first set presents sentences in which students fill in the blanks with present tense conjugations. Every card highlights certain words (articles, adjective agreement, etc.) in blue.

In addition to conjugating être in the present tense, students should pay close attention to the highlighted words as they will need them in the set of CHALLENGE cards.

The second set is a real challenge. Students conjugate and fill in the missing words that they will have seen in the first set.

The video is 12 minutes long, giving time for you or students to put the video on pause and to work on translations before going over them. I provide LOTS of grammar explanations. The video includes two substantial translations, English to French. You may choose to work on only one per session. I've included a PowerPoint version if you would rather not use the video and work through the translations with your students on your own.

The grammar topics are quite varied, because this is what happens in real French conversations. I frequently do translation work with my students, and they really appreciate the variety of material that is covered.

Every sentence includes the grammar that your advanced students have been working so hard to master. When translating, it's interesting to compare sentence structure. This is an opportunity to observe sentences that students would really say, and to figure out how to do that in French.
