This lesson uses Building Thinking Classrooms strategies for teaching math created by Peter Liljedahl. 4. Walk around the room searching for the letter/word match of the picture located in the oval in the top right of another card.
5. When found, write the answer on the line in the first box.
6. Following the arrow on their paper to box 2, write the number of this card in the box on the top left.
7. Repeat until all boxes are full. Students should return to starting card when completed.

Geography summer school and camps don't give us enough time to cover all the concepts and topics that need to be covered. Squeezing the curriculum

8 months is difficult; covering it over 6-8 weeks is impossible. There is so much information and so little time. This leaves us as educators with the question of what are the important aspects to cover. Having taught middle school level and high school level geography for 11 years, I have pulled out what I feel is a must!

A working knowledge of geography concepts is helpful in teaching this material. If you do not understand geography or if you have never taught geography before, no problem! Teaching kids about gratitude is a mindset that will benefit them for years to come. Research tells us that gratitude has many benefits, including greater life satisfaction and better attitudes about school.

Gratitude provides perspective for kids–they can learn to see through the eyes of others, and through that, they can learn to form healthy relationships with themselves and others.
