This Math Activity can be used many different ways to suit the needs of your class, here are a few ideas:

1. Math Around the Room – cut cards out individually and hang around the room, students take recording sheet on a clipboard around the room and copy problems then fill in the missing parts. (sometimes its great to let the students move about the room)

Hands on practice:

My students love the opportunity to have a hands on activity where they can roll dice. This activity combines dice rolling for random numbers with flipping cards for random place value to practice rounding decimal numbers. Great engagement for practicing a basic skill.

Students practice rounding numbers to the thousandths place value. They create numbers to the ten thousandths place. Students stay engaged with the game aspect that dice and cards bring.

This is a fun game to add to your math centers or just have in your classroom. Place Value Golf lets students practice place value while playing a game. Students will roll dice to see if they can get a certain number in the hundreds, tens, or ones. This game is usually a two player game, but can be played by only one player. It follows the rules of golf. Each time you roll is a stroke, the lowest score wins! Such a fun way to review and practice place value. This packet focuses on place value for 3 digit numbers. Task cards are available with a 3 digit number and students can build the number using colored hide zero cards or place the correct card that shows the numbers expanded form. There is also a place value matching or concentration game. These activities are perfect for small groups and centers.

In this product you will find:

Pages 2-11: These are 20 place value cards where students can build the number represented using the place value number cards or the expanded place value cards.

Pages: 12-17: Place Value Number Cards (Hide Zero Cards): Print each set in different colors to use to build the numbers from the place value cards. Pages 12-14 are to be one color, pages 15-16 a second color and page 17 needs to be a third color.

Pages 18: This page has plus and equal signs to be used to build the expanded forms of the numbers. (p.20-22)

Page 19: A recording sheet for the place value cards.

Pages 20-22: Place Value cards that can be used as task cards for students to use p.12-18 to build the expanded form or used with the following set of cards to create a matching or concentration game.

Pages: 23-25: Can be used as task cards to write the standard form of the number or used with the previous set of cards to create a matching or concentration game.

Pages 26-30: Expanded form cards to use with the cards on pages 2-11.

Get your K - first graders excited about math with these engaging Thanksgiving-themed place value worksheets! Designed to reinforce understanding of ones and tens, this 15-page resource offers a fun way for students to practice their skills with numbers up to 100.

This resource is a self checking task card scavenger hunt that works on converting both written and expanded form into standard form. This resource could be done by students independently or within a group to supplement classroom content, practice for classroom assessments or state tests, or used as used as a review. Students will love the challenge and stay engaged in the task!

Students can begin at any task card; they must write the task card letter in the circle in the first box on the student work page. They complete the equation on that task card and record their work in the box on the work page. They will know that their answer is correct by finding that specific answer in the "Previous Answer" section on another task card. That one would be the next task card in their sequence and they would repeat the process until they have completed all task cards. The last task card should lead them back to the original one that they started with. **If their answer is NOT found on any of the task cards under the "Previous Answer" sections, students will know that their answer is incorrect and they need to try again.

Step by step directions, (with pictures), are included as well as an answer key with every possible correct sequence that students could have depending on which task card they start with.
