90 Second Social Studies American Constitutional Amendments

By The Magical Avocado

This resource is a template for a 90 Second Social Studies assignment that includes 27 ready to edit slides on the American Amendments

What is a 90 Second Social Studies Assignment?

90 Second Social Studies Assignments introduce students to a large amount of information in a relatively short amount of time. The 90 second time limit serves as both a way to keep students on task, and to promote the idea of summarizing key details. 90 Second Social Studies Assignments can cover concepts, historical figures, landmarks, and events.

Why does this assignment use Google Slides?

One of the issues with student presentations is the transition time between student presenters. When the presentations are all on the same google slide, transitions become seamless. Google Slides also enables students to work simultaneously on the assignment, and for teachers to observe edits and work in real time.

Are your students having difficulty learning and identifying coins and their values? Mine were, so I worked to develop this interactive notebook and PowerPoint slides & I am thrilled with their progress!

The materials in this packet are developed to use in conjunction with one another. Use the powerpoint to introduce coins, then use the notebook to provide practice with each concept. I have also included a parent letter and a 2 page assessment to provide you with valuable pre/post learning data.

Why did Trump win the 2024 US Presidential Election? Explainer PowerPoint

By Mark Barrett

This is a 29-slide PowerPoint presentation which considers why Donald Trump won the 2024 US Presidential election.

It is suitable for all students 14+ in Politics or Citizenship classes.

Introduction: The presentation starts with an overview of the election results, highlighting the contentious nature of the election and the significant public and media attention it received. It also mentions Trump’s unexpected victory and the various factors influencing the electorate, including political, social, and economic factors.

It considers things like the handling of Key Issues and Policy Stances: Trump’s stances on key issues such as immigration, healthcare, and foreign policy resonated with voters. He emphasized a tough stance on immigration, proposed healthcare reforms, and prioritised American interests in foreign policy.

The PowerPoint also considers the reasons for Kamala Harris’ loss including perceived ineffectiveness as Vice President, campaign strategy and messaging failures, lack of enthusiasm and voter turnout, negative media coverage, and internal party divisions.

The PowerPoint ends with some issues to think about and these may form the basis of discussion or debate,

GEOGRAPHY, INTERACTIVE POWERPOINT, CONTINENTS & OCEANS BY SHAPE, TEXT EDITABLE

By Geography & Math Made Easy

(Please give the preview video a few minutes to process as it is 30 slides long)

This Interactive PowerPoint, which can be used across all grade levels, is a good way to gauge at the beginning of the year if your students know (1) The shape of each continent and ocean (2) The names of each of the continents and oceans (3) Where they are located. This presentation is a great way to review the continents and oceans as well.

°If a continent, once identified, the PP will identify how many countries are on each continent.

° The next slide will slide the continent or ocean in a map, piecing together the world map puzzle.

This is a quick and fun way to teach/review.

Guiding Questions

°What country or continent is this?

°What does it look like (regarding the shape)?

°How can you remember it?

°Where would it go on the map?

°What countries or how many countries make up the continent?
