Less than $5 Pre-K Vocal Music Resources

These songs and poems are perfect for celebrating autumn! This set contains 15 songs and poems about fall, with cute illustrations that can easily be used on a flannel board. (To use the illustrations on a flannel board, just cut them out and attach a piece of felt to the back.)

Flannel boards (or felt boards) are a fabulous method of sharing music and rhythm with children by using visual props along with songs. My collection of songs and poems will help you to use your flannel board to its fullest potential.

Get your class on beat! Included are 6 background tracks with ethnic flair -- tablas, djembes, bongos, and more ethnic percussion from Asia, India, and South America. The 6 tracks are at approximately 120bpm and also have a faster 142bpm just in case you want to get things really moving! (12 tracks total) I use these in my class for Orff, Boomwhacker, Rhythm Sticks, Dancing, Movement, or singing activities. The tracks go for about 2 minutes each and there's about 18 minutes worth of drum music in the ZIP file Have fun!

Looking for a good way to introduce the solfege do syllable? This is a wonderful solfege lesson where students can chant/sing solfege syllables while keeping the steady beat on their noses! Use the beat chart to decode for rhythm syllables and the song to learn how to sing and hand sign the do solfege syllable. Adaptable for grades PreK-2nd grade.

In this charming resource for your little ones, your students will see a bumblebee navigate his way through the powerpoint presentation, up... and down... and UUUUUUUUUUP, and downnnnnnnn, and all around!

Have your students mimic the movement of the bee (autonomously animated) throughout 10 different slides and assess their vocal exploration!

Use this wonderful book from Jason Lefebvre to teach and reinforce half notes! Chant this by giving the words "glue", "you" and "do" an extra beat and then ask your students to determine how many beats these words get. Have them move like they're stuck in glue while chanting to internalize the beat. Then use the beat chart and worksheet provided to learn and decode the half note beat. Add rhythm sticks to play the beats as a way to add in instruments. Adaptable for grades PreK-2nd grade.

Teach the ostinato concept using the musical lullaby extension to this well loved book. I wrote a simple lullaby the children can sing at every page turn. As a follow up activity have the students match the animal sounds with the correct animal. Worksheets can be either copied or assigned digitally through the Easel function. Good for students from PreK-2nd grade.

Use the chant or lullaby to help the bear feel better! Chant or sing this extension to the popular book "Bear Feels Sick" by Karma Wilson. Talk to the children prior to starting about what being a caring and good friend means and that friends help each other when they are sick. Then introduce the chant or song to the children and sing after every time that the says the bear feels sick. Use the rhythm chart to decode the rhythms and discover quarter rests. Use this lesson to have the children comfort the bear that the tooth will come out! Based on this popular book, have the children chant or sing to a bear puppet that it will all be okay. Use the accompanying rhythm and beat charts to differentiate between rhythm and steady beat. Accompanying worksheet should be used to have students notate the rhythms to reinforce their decoding skills. Have the older students in grades 1 and 2 sing the chant on so, mi and la syllables.
