Bullet Journal for Teachers, Printable Teacher Journal
By Joyful Explorations
This bullet journal is created with the lifestyle of a teacher in mind. A bullet journal is sort of a combination of a diary and a planner. It’s flexible, so you can be creative, have fun, and make your journal work for you. The main idea is that you jot down short ideas (bullet points) instead of writing out long pages of prose. Quick, easy and fun. Perfect for a teacher with limited free time.
With a traditional bullet journal, you start with a blank book. Starting a journal from scratch can be time-consuming though. That’s where this journal can help you out, because the hard work is all done for you. It comes with premade pages, so that you can focus on what’s important to YOU. With this journal, you have the freedom to add as much (or little) of your own unique creativity as you want.
This journal is a reminder to take care of YOU! As a teacher, you take care of your students every day. Now it’s your turn to RELAX, RENEW and REFLECT.
When you purchase this product, you will receive detailed instructions for using your bullet journal. You will also get more than 60 pages that you can print, including blank pages that you can customize to meet your needs. Mix and match the pages to make your individual journal.
Please note that this journal is NOT a lesson planner.

WHY BUY THIS?
Aren’t we all a little more engaged when material is presented to us in a fun way? Turning a simple worksheet or practice test into a review game captures students’ attention and increases their motivation to participate. If your classroom is anything like mine, you know that behavior problems are minimal when student engagement is high.
With this customizable game board, you can turn any worksheet, practice test, or topic into an irresistible game that students are begging you to play.
I know it can be nearly impossible to find pre made review games that perfectly align with your curriculum.
Let’s say you're a 4th-grade teacher using the Bridges math curriculum and want to review for the unit 3 math test at the end of the week.
The odds of finding a review game for this specific test on TeachShare are pretty slim, so save the time spent searching for something and create a game yourself.
This editable template allows you to create a jeopardy-style review game to match exactly what you want students to learn and practice. Just divide the material into the main categories and input the questions and answers into the game board. BOOM, it’s ready to play!
I’ve even included a question planning template and step-by-step instructions to make the planning process even easier for you!
The options are endless. Create as many different games as you want and play them for years to come.

GEOGRAPHY CONCEPT BASED PLANNING GUIDE BRAINSTORMING BUBBLE (PART 1) FREE
By Geography & Math Made Easy
Free download for phase 1 of planning a concept-based lesson by Lynn Erickson's teaching theory. Download and brainstorm an essential question.
Visit our Blog How To Teach Geography
There is no correct way to teach geography, but there are some best practices. When I began my teaching career in geography 26 years ago in Memphis City Schools, Memphis, TN, the district was focused on concept-based teaching — teaching to the big ideas & conceptual-based learning based upon Lynn Erikson's concept-based instruction. At first, I found it very challenging to implement this strategy into my lessons as it was a new concept and it significantly varied from the way we had all been presenting content to our students. It took persistence; it took patience, but I believe it was a huge part of why my students enjoyed geography and were able to grasp it. An example of this would be teaching the concept of "human population" and then applying this concept to world population ideas and issues throughout the world such as:
Push and pull factors of migration
Cartograms, and population density maps
Causes and outcomes of population growth and decline
China's one-child policies due to overpopulation
Africa's population decline
Europe's population decline, etc.
This conceptual-based learning worked well, and students were learning and grasping the concepts and material. It required me to spend more time on the concept with my students, but it gave them a BIG PICTURE of how variables affect population and how population trends work and are influenced. It made them think at higher levels preparing their pathways for high-level learning and working to strengthen their brain connectivity. It gave them a different viewpoint of looking at geography, rather than focusing on one small concept at a time.
Just to give you an idea of how I would/do begin planning each concept-based lesson, I would begin with a brainstorming bubble, and in the center circle, I would type in an essential question. All an essential question (they always have to use big terminology) is an open-ended question that educators use to spark student interest. I say, let' not make this harder than it has to be.
Here are examples of essential questions specific to geography:
How have Revolutions impacted our world? (This could be taking a look at the meaning behind "revolution" and empowering student understanding of this "concept" through discussing many different types of revolutions such as the American Revolution, the Industrial Revolution in the United States and Europe, the Russian Revolution, the Cultural Revolution, the Sudanese Revolution, and the Chinese Revolution of 1949.)
Does music create culture, or vice versa?
Who is an American?
How can learning about other cultures teach us about our own?
What is the relationship between climate and natural resources?
Need an idea for an essential question? There is so much information today on essential questions than there was when I first started teaching. Simply, type into your search engine: "Essential questions for geography." and then align it with your curriculum. Others have "essentially" (no pun intended) done this work for you over the years.
