Scientific Notation Differentiated Review Activity | Grade 8 Math

By EZMath

Level Ups are a fun way to challenge your students to complete various levels of mastery on working with scientific notation. Aligned to the common core standards, Level Ups provide 5 levels of challenge for your students to complete, starting with pre-requisite place value and exponent property skills all the way up to operations with scientific notation and word problems.

Students start at level zero and work their way up to level 4, giving them accurate feedback on what they have mastered, and what they still need to work on. This lesson works as a great way to review scientific notation after teaching the concept, or as preparation for an upcoming assessment.

This activity includes:

  • Suggested activity instructions (based on how I run this in my classroom).
  • Five levels with 6 - 15 questions each.
  • Complete answer keys for each level.

If you enjoy this activity, please check out my other Level Up products, or my Team Target Review series, which encourages group work and rich math discussion.

First Grade Math True or False Equations

By Jennifer Connett

This set contains math rings for determining if the card shows a true equation or a false equation comparison. Print, cut and laminate these cards then place them on rings for a portable math center or small group activity. Set 1: This set contains two math problems that may or may not be equal. Students must solve both sides to see if both equations have the same answer. They will record their answers as True/False on a recording sheet. Set 2: These rings contain number bonds on both side. The first number bond is correct. The second number bond may or may not be correct. Students must determine if the second number bond is true or false and equal to the first number bond. Set 3: These rings contain number problems and number bonds and students must determine if the equation and the number bond are equal. If they are, then they will mark True on their answer page. If not, the student will mark False. Each set is available for sums up to 10 and up to 20. This product is included in the following bundle: First Grade Math Ring Bundle Please check out these other First Grade Math Rings: Math Rings: Addition by Making 10 Math Rings: Commutative Property of Addition and Related Subtraction Problems Math Rings: Number Bonds for Sums up to 10 Math Rings: One More One Less
