Editing Sentences: Test Prep/ELA/STAAR Aligned/Packet
By Blooming Through High School
Bundle includes 46 Pages total & 3 Google Forms
I made these after realizing that my students in high school needed practice with the mechanics of how to construct a sentence before I could begin instructing them on best practices for structure in their essays. There are pages for them to practice (on paper) or you can use as a quiz for after instruction! All of the Google quizzes will self-grade and they are editable.
This is the essential Test Prep Bundle for students testing for state or district exams.
They're also adaptable for students who are doing self-directed learning as each includes a short teaching page for students to reference as they are working through the activities.
The Vocab Bundle - Finding Meaning Of Unfamiliar Words Using Context Clues
By Blooming Through High School
Word Meaning with Nonsense Words
Why teach word meaning through nonsense words (context clues only)?
All of these are things we want every student to do! This is something that is already adapted for high and low learners.
Starting with three nonsense words gets students going so they can work in groups or independently to decode the meaning of 7 REAL words (selected from the SAT vocabulary list).
This is a perfect activity for group problem solving and critical thinking!
Finding the meaning of words: in context, with a definition and from the Latin or Greek base. Four teaching pages are included for self-guided learning along with 7 student pages for practice with various shortened reading passages.
INCLUDED:
BUNDLE & SAVE: ELA Test Prep, Study Guide & Activities Bundle
Word Meaning with Greek & Latin
✔️Need to teach Greek & Latin along with Context Clues?
✔️Looking for way to get your students thinking critically & making connections?
✔️Need to integrate vocabulary in a meaningful way?
This activity includes worksheets, task cards and Google Quizzes for vocab practice
Students will use key words from the definitions in the first activity to determine the meaning of the Greek or Latin prefix. By recognizing the prefixes in words they recognize (and some they won't) students will begin making connections to other words they hear and read. This is a natural way to build in vocabulary to daily instruction that includes context clues and the Greek and Latin.
Included:
Vocabulary Starter
NEED TO TEACH VOCABULARY IN YOUR MIDDLE OR HIGH SCHOOL CLASSROOM AND YOU'RE NOT SURE WHERE TO START?
You came to the right place! I have been teaching for 5+ years, I have my Master's in Education with a focus on Literacy and I didn't know where to start.
So, I went back to everything I learned in my graduate program and re-read everything I could find.
I wrote & designed a student-engaging template to help students in my classroom to deeply internalize a word. I gathered key word lists when I didn't have a word from our daily reading, and thought about how to teach vocabulary so my love of etymology and words could be shared with my 10th graders. I've included all that and a guide to help other teachers get started with implementing and teaching vocabulary in THEIR classrooms.
Is this book for me?
Then this book is for you!
Adaptable to every classroom in every situation, this is more than a fill-in-the-blank activity. Your students will have a guide to build a vocabulary for a lifetime of learning.
WHY TEACH VOCABULARY EXPLICITLY?
Generating curiosity and delight in playing with words supports long-term memory, enhances the connection between orthography and meaning, and develops a disposition which stimulates word consciousness. It also builds vocabulary! All of these are a part of a vocabulary rich classroom environment.

◈ Stations of the Cross Posters and Coloring Pages: This is a set of posters or coloring pages for Stations of the Cross with the number and name of the station. The stations come in both color and black & white. Each poster has a realistic border like you might see the stations on at church. Each coloring page matches the posters.
Included in this set:
◈ I Have....Who Has - Stations of the Cross: This listing is for 2 versions of the “I Have, Who Has” game for the Way of the Cross. In the first set of cards, the Stations of the Cross are in order. In the second set of cards, the Stations of the cross are in random order. Included is one ZIP with two separate PDF game files. There are 4 pages with 4 cards each per set of “I Have, Who Has” games.
◈ Stations of the Cross 3-Part Cards: This resource is a Montessori inspired set of 3-part cards for the Stations of the Cross / Holy Week. The cards can also be used for a set of flashcards! There is a total of 28 cards with a choice of color or black & white. This set of cards are big so that little hands can use them easily during Lent, Holy Week, Easter, or any time.
The set of cards is printed twice, then one set is laminated and kept in one piece, while the other set is cut apart and laminated. Some like to put a backing behind them before they laminate. To use, the 2-parts can be matched to the whole card, used in games like (I Spy), writing practice, flashcards, or a number of other ways. They can also be used for a word wall or write the room type activity.
UPDATE: The optional 15th station has been added for those that practice it. There is now 30 cards total. This update is not shown in the preview.
◈ Stations of the Cross Write the Room: This is a Christian write the room activity that is perfect for any religion classroom, homeschool, Sunday School, and more during Lent, Holy Week, Easter, or any time! There are 14 cards with the Stations of the Cross with the picture (includes station number) and name. These can be placed around the room and have the kids write on their worksheet what it is.
The cards alone could be used for flashcards!
There are also 3 types of sheets included. One has the words for little ones to trace and the other 2 have different blank lines with the station for the kids to write as they get to each card location.
UPDATE: There has been a card with the optional 15th station (The Resurrection) added. Also, there is a writing/record sheet added for each type, so you can choose between 14 or 15 stations. This update is not shown in the preview.
UPDATE: (02/17/2022) There is an addition of the cards in black & white, including the optional 15th station. There is also the addition of record sheet with just the roman numeral (plus a second one with the optional 15th station). Additionally, all the record sheets have been updated to look "cleaner". These updates can't be seen in the preview, but can be seen in the thumbnails.
◈ Stations of the Cross Passport in Color & BW: Here’s a fun way for kids to learn about The Stations of the Cross during Lent, Holy Week, Easter, or any time. This is a passport for The Way of the Cross where kids can collect stamps for each of The Stations of the Cross that they visit. The stamp can be added to each page for the station, or they can be added at the back of the booklet on the stamp pages.
Each page of the booklet has an image of the station, along with the prayers and the Stabat Mater for that station. In addition, there’s a page of the opening prayers and prayer intentions. There’s also a student information page where they can put a photo of themselves, just like a real passport! The pages are numbered and the stations pages go in between in their proper order.
There is also an optional 15th station, The Resurrection, which is often used at some parishes. This is currently only a page and a stamp is not yet available. UPDATE: The stamp for the 15th station is now available. This update is not shown in the preview.
Cut the cover out along the solid line and fold on the dashed line. Then cut each of the pages out on the solid lines and place them in order inside the cover. There is an area to staple on the edge so that it doesn’t interfere with the pages.
The passport for The Way of the Cross is available in a color version or a black & white/grayscale version.
◈ Stations of the Cross Coloring Booklets: Here you will find a coloring booklet for teaching little ones the way of the cross….or even use for review! This booklet for Stations of the Cross can be used during Lent, Holy Week, Easter, or any time.
This 14-page coloring booklet contains 1 image for each of the Stations of the Cross. They are in a frame similar to one that you might see framing the Stations of the Cross in church with each of the coloring images drawn in a kid-friendly style.
◈ Stations of the Cross Write & Color Booklets: This booklet is for the Stations of the Cross to write and color each station. Each page has an image for each station with 2 types of lines. There are lines for big and little kids.
The lines can be used to/for:
• Write what each station is
• Reflections
• Prayers
• Write what they feel when they look at the image
• Tell a story about each image
• And so much more!
◈ Stations of the Cross Praise Tags: Praise tags or reward tags are perfect for an incentive system for VBS, homeschool, CCD, Sunday School, or in the Christian classroom. This set of tags is based on the Stations of the Cross.
