Bible Letter of the Week Mini Books Bible Alphabet Bible Phonics
By Kaylor Creations
Journey through learning the letters of the alphabet while also discovering Bible characters, verses, stories and more! These mini books are perfect for little hands and the message is perfect for their little hearts!
Here is what is included in this resource. Make sure to check out the preview!
My Mini Bible Letter Books
One for each letter of the alphabet! Each mini book is 7 mini pages on two full sheet of paper. They are easy to print, cut down the middle and staple together.
Each Book Includes
Page 1: A Bible verse that begins with the letter. This can be used for memorization too!
Page 2: Letter with Bible Word, Picture & short lesson
•Page 3:Another Letter with Bible Word, Picture & short lesson
Page 4: Uppercase Learn & Practice: you can use these pages to teach what the letter looks like and how to write it, you could also introduce the sound.
Page 5: Lowercase Learn & Practice: you can use these pages to teach what the letter looks like and how to write it, you could also introduce the sound.
Page 6: Letter Maze The letters on in block squares inside a maze. The Student must look for the letter to follow a path from start to finish. Could use a highlighter.
•Page 7: Letter Sounds Cut & Paste At the end of this resource you will find pictures of things that begin with each letter of the alphabet. The student will cut and paste the pictures that make the same sound.
Letter Sounds Pictures ( Pg. 58-65)
•Organized three letters at a time, these are pictures of things that begin with each letter of the alphabet. These are small enough to cut out and paste onto the last page of the mini book. Very little ones – You could let them find the right pictures then you may want to cut them out for them. I would suggest printing them on cardstock. I used a color cardstock.
Alphabet Posters Sample ( 67-70)
•I created full sized posters to be used to decorate your classroom, use as visuals, stick to your fridge or dry erase board to remember the letter of the week. I provided three free samples for you in this resource. Post on cardstock or laminate.
What's great about these mini books is they include almost all of the resources that are in other kinds of letter of the week curriculums but i_nstead of wasting tons of paper, you are are only printing two pages a week_ !
These were created with Preschoolers in mind, but they could be used with Kindergarten as review, as remediation or for sped.

Perfect for Veteran's Day!
PowerPoint Presentation
This 13-slide PowerPoint presentation explores the experiences and contributions of women during the Civil War. It is an ideal lesson for the Civil War period or as a stand-alone resource for women’s history. It is also a good resource during Women’s History Month.
Each slide contains information and graphics that highlight women’s changing roles due to industrialization. It highlights the different experiences based on social classes as well as work experiences and early organizational efforts.

This three-page Reading Assignment and Worksheet provides an overview of the various activities, attributes and activities of women during the Civil War. Students will learn about the varied experiences of women, especially based on region, socio-economic status and cultural background.
Students can read this on their own in class, as a homework assignment or it can be a group activity in a classroom. It is also ideally suited for home-schoolers or independent learners who want to learn more. A Worksheet with questions based on the reading is included, along with an Answer Key.
Reading Assignment - 2 pages

Clothes I Have Who Has? and Picture Dictionary (British English)
By Rigorous Resources for High School English
This 25-page EDITABLE writing curriculum has everything you'll need to help your students write high-quality analytical papers on any literary text. This unit was originally designed for high school English teachers who want to help students improve their analytical writing. But teachers across other disciplines report that it has helped them to deliver clear and informative lessons on how to write high-quality expository essays.
Here are some highlights from this 25-page unit on analytical/expository writing:
• The Writing Process (Handout #1): This handout offers several tips about how to choose a topic for an analytical paper on literature. Encourage your students to use the writing process as an opportunity to deepen their knowledge about the text. (4 pages)
• The Intro Paragraph: Hook & Thesis (Handout #2): In the first page of this handout, students learn to identify and formulate the interpretive questions which they will hope to answer or solve while writing their papers. The challenge of "problem construction" will present most high school students with the opportunity to develop a new and exciting skill — one that will serve them well in college and beyond. In the second and third pages of this handout, students learn to write thesis statements that balance complexity with clarity. They learn to use grammatical subordination in order to generate a main claim that is sufficiently complex to anchor an entire paper. (4 pages)
• Body Paragraphs: Evidence & Analysis (Handout #3): In this handout, students learn about how "evidence" in the humanities differs from evidence in the sciences. Because evidence in the humanities is rarely factual or indisputable, student writers will always need to frame, unpack, and analyze their evidence. This handout offers several suggestions about how, as it were, to "make the evidence speak." It also offers strategies for how to organize evidence into a series of body paragraphs that build upon one another in a logical and compelling manner. (2 pages)
• Topic Sentences / Transitional Sentences (Handout #4): This handout offers advice about how students can use transitional expressions to clarify the logical connections between the claims in each of their topic sentences. It includes a list of different types of transitional expressions along with several examples. (2 pages)
• Precepts for Effective Prose (Handout #5): This handout features about a dozen precepts or "rules of thumb" that students should follow when writing academic papers. The handout contains brief paragraphs on each of the following topics: Avoid plot summary; Always use the present tense; Minimize intensifiers; Alternatives to writing "It says"!! (2 pages)
• Sample Introductory Paragraphs: Look at six introductory paragraphs from articles published by literary scholars in academic journals over the last decade. Invite students to reflect on what they find to be particularly effective — or ineffective —about each introductory paragraph. How does each writer hook the reader's interest? How do they construct an interpretive problem? How do they generate a complex thesis statement? (6 pages)
• Paper Outline Template: Invite students to use this template when generating the outlines for their analytical papers. (3 pages)
• Rubric: Use this rubric to evaluate the analytical papers that your students write in response to any literary text. (1 page)
The entire writing unit will come to you in two different formats: Word doc *and* PDF. Because the Word doc is editable, you'll be able to customize the materials to suit your teaching style and/or your students' skill levels — year after year! If you don't have Microsoft Word, you'll still be able to access the entire unit as a PDF file, which is easy to navigate and quick to print!
Because I believe that teachers on TeachShare should be able to see what they're getting before they make a purchase, the preview for this resource provides access more than a dozen actual pages from the resource. Click on the green “preview” button to see exactly what you’ll get....

Four Corners | Figurative Language Game | No Prep | ELA | Writing | Poetry
By Perfectly Planned Designs
This Four Corners Game is a fun, no-prep activity you can use to review Figurative Language that your students will LOVE! They will love moving around the room as you click through the 40 examples of figurative language, such as hyperbole, metaphor, simile, and personification. I’ve found that although my students can tell me the definition of these terms, simile is the only one they can truly pick out in a text. As a result, their writing is filled with overused similes that need work! You will love this well-organized activity that allows students to test their knowledge, get exposure to high-quality examples, and even learn something new! This is an activity I use in my classroom every year during our narrative writing unit and I know your students will love it!
INCLUDED WITH YOUR PURCHASE:
40 Examples of Figurative Language
4 Printable Classroom Signs
Definition of Terms
Answer Key
STUDENT GUIDELINES FOR USING THIS RESOURCE
After reading each figurative language example on the board, move to the side of the room labeled “Metaphor,” “Simile,” “Hyperbole,” or “Personification.” Be prepared to defend your choices. You may disagree with your classmates’ opinions but do so respectfully. (I typically go over each example with students and discuss the impact of the words or phrases to uncover the deeper meaning. Ask questions such as, "what is being compared?" or "what can the reader visualize?")
*As an optional follow-up activity, use my No-Prep Figurative Language Short Passage Set resource to assess individual understanding, homework, or assessment!
REFLECTION:
The class can review the answers and comments as a whole group when the activity is complete. You’ll be surprised how much better they’ll get at figurative language after being exposed to some high-quality examples!
