There is always some prep for the lessons, but most everything is done for you: printable (not worksheets; they are printable the students use to interact ), introduction, list of materials needed, objectives, process, closure, etc.

Once you open the zip file, you will see all the lessons. Some are PDFs and others are zip files that you must open up to obtain all the parts to the lesson. i.e Push and Pull Factors is a zip file. Once opened, you will be able to access the Powerpoint, Pdf Lesson, etc. This is a very larger file, so it make take some time to download. The first two resources helps students to learn about needs and wants and income & expenses and identify the difference between them. Students then apply their learned knowledge to a variety of questions and activities.

The two budgeting resources ask students use their learned knowledge of needs, wants, income and expenses to identify these items in monthly Bank Statements/ budgets. Students will practice identifying and calculating the amount of money needed for a desired expense (ex. Item or trip) and calculating how much money will need to be saved each month in order to attain the desired expense. 8 months is difficult; covering it over 6-8 weeks is impossible. There is so much information and so little time. This leaves us as educators with the question of what are the important aspects to cover. Having taught middle school level and high school level geography for 11 years, I have pulled out what I feel is a must!

A working knowledge of geography concepts is helpful in teaching this material. If you do not understand geography or if you have never taught geography before, no problem! Simply, read through the student material so you can help your students understand and complete the included activities. Before presenting it to your students, this will require a little mental preparation; however, this resource will save you 20+ hours of resource prep.
