World Autism Awareness Day Activity Pack

I love creating NO PREP activities when I can for my French teacher peeps! Sharing my resources with colleagues has been a practice since the beginning of my career and I think that’s what makes us all stick together and help one another out. French resources can be scarce, and this is what has led to my starting my STORE on TeachShare.

How to use this resource:

1. Copy out pages, I like to copy out a set and then load them into the copier and make multiples that way students sitting side by side do not have the same work and they tend to be more creative with their colouring.

2. Set out as many pink colouring materials as you can and let the students go

3. I created a poster size pair of T-shirts and copied onto blue paper to make a display for World Autism Awareness Day 2024

4. Hang student artwork below your poster and display for the school to see

5. Use writing version to create slogans, sentences, or positive affirmations to raise awareness

This unit connects learning with technology to Social Studies. This is perfect for technology class or for use in a Social Studies or History classroom that wants to incorporate technology with a lesson. No download is required to use Canva (www.canva.com) - a free product, making it easy for teachers who are not able to download software on classroom computers to still give their students a choice in learning.

In this lesson, students are provided with a quick tutorial, as well as links to other resources to help them with their project. The tutorial is intended to help students get started with the program and then use the resources within the program to refine their creations. Students create a newspaper/newsletter about a topic of interest related to the Industrial Revolution from a provided list after researching the topic. They use that information along with graphics, pictures and backgrounds from the Internet and also supplied in Canva, to create a finished presentation that explains their topic, and add their own opinions and insights to the project.

This is an excellent creative project to add to a unit on the Industrial Revolution. The project was created for grades 7-8 but could easily be used with upper elementary or high school students.

This lesson is great for distance learning/remote learning. You can upload it to your school's learning management system (Google Classroom, Edmodo, Canvas, etc.) or share with students via Google Drive.

Kindergarten End of the Year Poem and Certificates is a beautiful poem that I wrote for our kindergarten graduation years ago along with certificates and diplomas that are editable. I have adapted it for classes that do not have an actual kindergarten graduation but still want to show your kindergarten students and families just how much they mean to you!
