Prepositional Phrase Practice - Cut and Paste Activity

By A Teachers Sidekick

This is a cut and paste activity for students to practice prepositional phrases. Students will need to cut the preposition out of the lists given and then paste it into the correct sentence. Then they will circle the prepositional phrase in the sentence.

This would be a great "Check for Understanding" activity or even a quick assessment.

I hope you enjoy it. Please rate and review.

Hints for Teaching Sounds: Speech Therapy Language Exercises : Autism

By All Therapy Resources

This document highlights how to encourage articulation and pronouncing sounds for children and students, particularly the most difficult sounds for children to master. Each page includes step by step instructions and examples as to how to pronounce the following speech sounds: m, n, h, b, w, y, t, d, k, sh, j, ch, l, g, f, v, s, z, r, th (quiet & loud sound) and p.

Information has been provided to explain how speech sounds are taught. For example, in a hierarchy (isolation, syllables, words, phrases, sentences and conversation).

To support students to develop an awareness of sounds, they need to be encouraged to:

• Talk about how to make the sound

• Demonstrate how it is made and

• Help the student to make the sound

This resource does just that!

Gideon Puts out a Fleece, Judges 6:5-40, Homeschool, Bible Lesson

By Cheryl Bennett

This resource is great for ages pre-school to adult. It includes activities for all ages and some that can just be adapted for each age group. If you are ready to take your personal Bible study to a new level, especially in preparation for teaching, you will find pages to guide you.

Include:

  • Printing instructions
  • Colorful clipart
  • A simplified story for younger learners
  • A study guide for older ages
  • Activities to help learners engage with the text and not simply passively take it in
  • Story pages with color
  • Story pages in black and white - great for coloring pages
  • A storyboard in color - perfect for review on the day of the lesson or days later
  • A storyboard in black and white - can be used as a resource to send home with students so they can re-read with parents or others at home
  • Puzzle piece activity that can be used for different ages. It serves as a review of Judges 6 and how it connects to the gospel. Print and cut out the puzzle pieces and have learners match the description with the picture. You can read to the students who are not yet reading. You can also mix them up so that they have to put them in order of the story. This page serves as an answer key before it is cut.
  • In-depth study pages for Judges as a whole. The goal is to begin to use the Inductive Bible Study method to help students (adults and children) observe scripture in context and then interpret it and apply it correctly. Use your discretion for the ages that are ready for this much depth. It involves re-reading the chapter and may need to be done over several days.
  • The Gospel is on slide 23 and can be used with every lesson as a reminder that the Gospel is central to all of the Word of God.

Deaf Education Story - American Sign Language Story - Signing with Oliver Story

By Sign with me TOD

Signing with Oliver is a story about a child who is Deaf and uses American Sign Language to communicate. He attends a residential school for the Deaf. He is looking forward to a Friday sleepover with his best friend, Derek, who is also Deaf and stays in the dorms at school as a residential student. The boys are so excited for their sleepover. In their neighborhood there isn’t anyone who uses sign language to communicate, which makes it challenging for them to make friends. In this story, students will read about the challenges that Oliver faces throughout the week, while he tries to follow the rules at home and in school so Derek can sleep over. Will he be able to stay out of trouble so Derek can sleep over?

There are 8 chapters in this product. The story is included in the first part of the product and another packet is included after the story that includes questions for each chapter. Vocabulary words, their meanings, examples of each word in a sentence, and an opportunity for students to use each vocabulary word in a sentence are included. Comprehension questions that relate with each chapter are also included. Students can complete these comprehension questions independently or in a group after they have finished reading each chapter. Some of the comprehension questions allow students to write about their own personal experiences.
