Elaboration Stems Anchor Chart/Posters| Writing Center Resources | ELA Tools
By Perfectly Planned Designs
Resource Description
This Anchor Chart is specifically designed to get students to start writing at a higher level by offering them a colorful and coordinated reference! Blow these up using the instructions I include and print on multiple sheets, then laminate! I also print 8x11 copies to include in my students' Writing Tools Folder.
This resource includes 4 designs to choose from!
Elaboration Stems features writing stems students can use while elaborating on evidence in their essays. This chart is an essential because students can refer to them while writing but gradually start incorporating them as it becomes a force of habit. I always have it front and center while my students are writing. It's a life-saver when they're not sure how to elaborate on evidence. I've found that their writing is better because of it, as well.
✅ Great for displaying in your writing center!

Symbolism Graphic Organizers (Two)
By Queen's Educational Resources
Not grade specific/Excellent for ALL grades!
PDF File
TWO graphic organizers of different complexity prompt students of all levels to think about what specific objects, people, images, events, ideas, words, etc. represent in a story or non-fiction text. Students cite evidence to support the meaning and significance of identified symbols. Both graphic organizers are different in complexity. The first graphic organizer targets Special Ed and ELL students, and the second graphic organizer, which is more complex, targets higher level students who need to be challenged further.
