Use page 1 of quick reference guide as a way to determine an idea of the function of your student’s behavior. The box with the greatest number of checks should be considered as a possible function of the behavior. It’s important to think about the purpose of this behaviour and whether the behaviour is accidently being rewarded or reinforced by what you do post behaviour. Children's behaviour does not occur in isolation to the family system; hence a systemic family approach is vital for the development and progress of each individual child.
