One Question Two Perspectives

This ebook contains ten questions related to the war in the Ukraine. Each question is answered using two perspectives, one Ukrainian and one Russian. The idea is to  provide a thought provoking experience to any high school or secondary student. The following questions were used:

1. What were the primary factors that led to the escalation of the Ukrainian war in 2024?
2. How has the international community responded to the conflict in Ukraine, particularly the roles of the United Nations and NATO?
3. What impact has the war in Ukraine had on the global economy, especially in terms of energy supplies and commodity prices?
4. How have sanctions imposed on Russia affected the progression of the war and Russia's economy?
5. What are the main humanitarian concerns resulting from the Ukrainian war, and how are global aid organizations addressing the crisis?
6. How has the information war, including cyber warfare and propaganda, influenced public perception and government actions in the Ukrainian conflict?
7. What attempts have been made at diplomacy or peace talks to resolve the Ukrainian war, and why have they succeeded or failed?
8. In what ways has the Ukrainian war impacted regional security in Eastern Europe and the broader geopolitical landscape?
9. How have the Ukrainian military and civilian populations adapted to the conditions of war, including their strategies and resilience?
10. What are the potential long-term consequences of the Ukrainian war for Ukraine, Russia, and the international order?

They get cheese every day!!  I'll be adding more menus weekly as I receive them.  There are so many things a French teacher can do with these in class. I have made five extremely versatile no prep printable worksheets available to use along with any and all of these French school lunch menus. Versions 1 - 4 have ten questions each while version 5 has six questions. The questions on these worksheets will have your students learning a lot about cultural differences concerning menu items as well as the amount of time French students get for lunch, why there's no menu for Wednesday, etc.

Engage your students with this 2 pages worksheet, focused on the renowned Spanish festival, La Tomatina. Designed for secondary Spanish students, this resource includes a reading comprehension passage about Nico’s unforgettable experience at the Tomatina festival. Here’s what it includes:

• Reading comprehension: Students answer questions in Spanish based on Nico’s story, building skills in understanding authentic-style texts.

• Grammar practice: A focused section on the pluperfect tense (pretérito pluscuamperfecto) helps students understand the tense and gain confidence in using this advanced tense to describe actions that happened prior to other past events.

• Vocabulary and Writing practice: Key vocabulary and phrases from the text are reinforced with translation exercises, promoting retention of useful language structures related to festivals and personal experiences.

The final writing task encourages students to write about their own hypothetical festival experience, using a mix of the pluperfect and preterite tenses, opinions, and connectors. This task is an excellent way to prepare students for the writing paper of the exam while allowing them to explore cultural themes.

This worksheet can support lessons on cultural topics, serve as effective exam prep, or offer meaningful cover work for independent study.

In "Take it to Mali", introduce your kids to some great music from indigenous instruments from Africa! Using your classroom Djembe or Tubanos, learn the music by rote by taking it one rehearsal section at a time (with rehearsal markings [A], [B], [C], and so forth). This is terrific practice with your older students who want to work on alternating hands

The notation on the first space F is a bass (middle of the drum) and the x notation on the third space C is a tone (four fingers near the rim of the drum, pitched a bit higher)

At the end, wrap it up and put on a show! Want to layer it?

• Have tambourines or shakers play on specified beats (try 2 and 4)
• Have shakers play 16th notes all the way throughout or in specific sections
• Have half the class play 1st and 3rd measures, the other half play 2nd and 4th measures
• Do it in a round! :)

The Global Challenges unit of AP Spanish® has many interesting contexts, including the environment. This digital and printable article talks about the effects of global warming in Antarctica, and explains the paradox of how rising temperatures actually cause more snow!
