I have a scaffolded option that includes the sounds, words, and high-frequency words in isolation that they will see in the story! When they are done reading the story you can work on comprehension with a few quick questions about the story! Tip-you could have them highlight all of the words with digraphs in the passage and have them read those in isolation before reading the whole story!
