She finds resilience through community support and small acts of normalcy like playing games with friends. Temporary ceasefires provide glimpses of peace amid the violence. By Kaylor Creations
*Current FREE sample of my Bible story decodable readers** This steal wont last forever!
Here are my others: Check them out!
Build confidence in beginning readers with this engaging Bible story decodable reader! This resource is for the decodable reader mini book titled “Sand or Rock?”, based on the Bible story of one parable of Jesus: the parable of two builders. It includes a Bible decodable reader mini book in color and black and white, pre-reading warm-ups, a teaching companion, and a single page passages option.
Primary-grade Christian teachers and homeschool teachers alike will love the user-friendly format!
Beginning readers will enjoy being able to read the Bible story for themselves!
This is the PERFECT way to ✨integrate the Bible✨ into your reading curriculum! Ideas for use include:
What makes this decodable reader so unique from all the other Bible mini books?
It is written specifically with very early readers in mind with words that can be sounded out/ decoded with basic phonic patterns such as: CVC, CVCe, Digraphs, Blends, Vowel Teams, R Controlled, and Diphthongs.

Pre-Reading Warm Up’s: These warm ups prepare the student with the words they will encounter in the mini book. These will help the student make connections and build prior knowledge. You will find a list and chart of the following words in the reader:
A decodable reader mini-book
A single-page passage with a picture(s).
Many reading programs such as the Science of Reading, Logic of English and All About Reading have found that for reading comprehension to improve, a student’s ability to decode must increase. A powerful tool to improve student decoding skills is through the use of decodable texts.
With a Bible decodable text, you will also be increasing the student’s knowledge of the Bible and help grow their faith in Jesus!
Thank you and HAPPY TEACHING!!
----------------------------------------------------------
Make sure to note:
This is for ONE Bible Story Decodable reader resource. Others are /will be listed separately in my store.
For most decodable readers the writer can ‘make up’ a story by choosing from only these types of words. However, to accurately tell the Bible story, I had to use a few sight words and Bible vocabulary.
These are not meant to be in-depth Bible lessons. These are meant to support your reading program, integrating the Bible into early learning!

FICHES DE LECTURE/READING ASSESSMENT/BENCHMARK | COMPLEX SOUND/SONS (FRENCH)
By French Made Fun!
My "big" kids in grades 5 and 6 have been struggling with their French sounds - both basic and complex - and we're backtracking! However, because of their unique needs, I was struggling to find texts at their level that featured these complex sounds - in excess - for them to practice, see in real life and to work with them in guided readings or 1:1. I was finding myself scouring my shelves for books that had ample opportunities for them to see and practice a certain sound and wasn't having success; so I decided to create texts that hone in on specific sound formations they're struggling with, have never properly learned, or have forgotten. They are texts which feature vocabulary at the grade 5-6 instructional level.
I was also tired of running back and forth from my literacy lab to find reading records and wanted to have them printable from my classroom. If you're in a similar boat, this is the product for you!
This collection features 44 pages of resources:
- 12 texts (student version to be printed and used in small groups or 1:1)
- 12 texts (teachable version with sounds highlighted, or for differentiated instruction)
- 12 "fiches" to use as a fiche d'observation/fiche d'évaluation en littératie in a 1:1 setting featuring columns you're used to seeing (Erreurs, autocorrections, S | St | V strategies, Fluidité, Date, Nom de l'évaluateur et nom de l'élève). I've also provided you with a handy accuracy calculator so you don't need to pull out your calculator for each individual text. Circle the number of errors and you'll be given their accuracy percentage. Each text features comprehension questions.
The sounds and textual features you'll see featured in these series of texts include:
For goodness sakes, don't forget to have fun!

Gaza Diary: Shadow of Hope - Realistic Fiction
By Mark Holmes
This story is also available as part of an eight story ebook, "Young Voices: Eight Short Stories of Courage & Resilience."
Aisha, a 13-year-old girl living in Gaza city, chronicles her experiences through a diary during a period of intense conflict between Israeli forces and Hamas militants in Gaza. As bombings, power outages, water shortages, and infrastructure damage disrupt daily life, Aisha describes her fears for her family's safety and her disrupted education. She finds resilience through community support and small acts of normalcy like playing games with friends. Temporary ceasefires provide glimpses of peace amid the violence. But tensions frequently boil over into clashes and protests at the border, unleashing new rounds of bombardment. Aisha conveys the mental and physical toll of living through endless cycles of war and deprivation in Gaza. Yet she retains hope for justice and freedom in the future, fueled by the strength of her community. Throughout her diary, Aisha gives an intimate account of what it's like to come of age in Gaza against a backdrop of conflict and hardship.
There are thought provoking questions (and possible answers) at the end of the story.
