Small, Medium and Big Problems Sizes, Reactions and Solutions Counseling Lesson
This lesson encourages students to differentiate between small, medium and big problems as well as exploring potential reaction sizes. This resource is reflective in nature allowing for open discussion and reflections to encourage students to brainstorm and generate solutions and ideas for various problems.
This is a fun, engaging and creative counselling lesson which is great for a variety of individual, group and whole class activities to support learning. This mini-lesson helps to develop social emotional skills, in particular learn to problem solve and strengthen social skills.

Teach your elementary school students calming strategies & coping skills with this fun and interactive turkey-themed digital Google Slides™ activity! Students will be captivated as they brainstorm solutions to remain calm and in control in each of the scenarios. Students will help the turkeys remain regulated as they add the calm-down strategy feather to each of the troubled turkey's tails!
Take a journey with these troubled turkeys to help them find their calm. This resource highlights the differences between how calm and angry make our bodies feel, allowing students to better identify and understand how emotions feel.
Each slide highlights a different real-life scenario that students may encounter. Students must look at the calming strategy feathers and decide which would work best in each situation. Students may not realize how powerful they are and just how much of an impact they can have on others if they lend a helping hand. This resource allows them to think about just how super they really are.
Included in this download are 2 Posters (3 different color options) and 54 situation cards.
Examples of the situation cards include:
