This product focuses on the following areas: what nicotine is, where it is found, what tobacco can do, the legal age you need to be so buy and use cigarettes, cigars, pipes, vapes, and use chewing tobacco, the dangers of using tobacco, how nicotine is addictive and harms brain development, what smoking can cause, what a minor is, the meaning of a stimulant, tar, carbon monoxide, smokeless tobacco, and peer pressure. Students will learn about positive peer pressure and negative peer pressure, what they are, and examples of each, secondhand smoke, smokeless tobacco, why you should avoid tobacco, why some people smoke, short-term effects of tobacco - addiction, breathing problems, nicotine and tar stains, odor, cost, fires and burns, and long-term effects of tobacco - heart disease, lung disease, stomach ulcers, wrinkles, and gums/teeth, quitting tobacco use, secondhand smoke and the causes from it, reasons to resist smoking and the importance of following those reasons, resistance skills, review of vocabulary words, and being a health advocate and the importance of doing that.
social stories about nicotine are included in this product and comprehension questions about what the characters should do and what the students would do to handle the different scenarios if they were involved are asked. Fill in the blanks questions are periodically asked throughout this product.

Students can answer these questions as the book is read or after they have finished reading the book or listening to the book. While reading this book and answering these questions, students will learn better ways to solve problems, trust their gut or how they feel about something, learn about stranger danger, what to do if a stranger talks to them, and reminds students that rules are set up to maintain safety. The Berenstain Bears and Get in a Fight comprehension questions product is useful for students that read the book. The questions are placed in order with the book. Students can answer these questions as the book is read or after they have finished reading the book or listening to the book. While reading this book and answering these questions, students will learn about making mistakes compared with doing something on purpose, being in a good mood compared to a bad mood, what actions can be taken if you are in a bad mood, name calling, hurting others feelings, it is okay to feel angry, frustrated, etc., but it is not okay to hurt yourself, others, etc. a list of things that you can do when you feel angry to help feel better, and making up after a fight. Students can answer these short answer questions, yes/no questions, multiple choice questions, and vocabulary/picture labeling questions as the book is read to them, as they read the book independently or they can use the text for lookbacks once the book is finished. Vocabulary words, their meanings, and examples of the words used in sentences are presented. Students have the opportunity to use those words in sentences as well.

Students are also presented with different words that will help them to remember to have an open mind. Students will be presented with a real-life situation about how one woman defined herself and found happiness, they will discuss this individuals feels, how positive traits inspired her, and how she built up her self esteem. Students will discuss positive and neutral character traits, they will identify unique character traits about themselves and discuss them further and how these positive traits promote their overall well being.

This product focuses on the following areas: what is peer pressure?, making choices, how many factors include your choices?, what influences our choices?, importance of analyzing what influences your health, what factors influence your health - social environment, exercise and health, nutrition, economic factors, and living and working conditions, the meaning of peers, peer pressure, positive peer pressure, negative peer pressure, students will fill in the blanks to see if the situation is negative peer pressure or positive peer pressure, applying negative peer pressure and how it may be intentionally done and not intentionally done, what helps you to use resistance skills to say no to something you don't want to do, why peers may use negative peer pressure, making the best choice that is healthful, tips when using resistance skills to resist negative peer pressure, and example situations are provided and students can answer questions as if they were in the given situation are provided in this product. Short answer review questions are asked at the end of the product and throughout to ensure student comprehension.
