Students need to know how to sort 2d shapes and identify the name of each figure. This anchor chart meant to help your kids understand how we classify shapes into categories based on their attributes, a polygon hierarchy made different! I made a polygon family tree that groups polygons into families and subgroups. This helps kids see the relationships more clearly without using arrows.

This resource is well organized and it visually shows the relationships between the multiple different classifications of the polygons, triangles and quadrilaterals. It is a must have to all kinds of learners.

Shapes included:

• Non-Polygons: Circle, Moon shape, Heart, ...
• Triangles: Equilateral, isosceles, scalene, acute, right, obtuse, Right and isosceles.
• Quadrilaterals: Square, rectangle, rhombus, parallelogram, trapezoid, kite.

This is a math mystery that is specifically aligned to the 3rd grade Engage NY and Eureka math module 4 on area. This resource would also be a great for review of area for 4th grade students prior to the state test. This resource includes a scenario, a suspect list, 5 clues that students will solve to find the culprit and answers keys to all pages. Area concepts practiced in this are: determining multiplying length x width, determining area using tiling, finding the missing side length, find area of irregular shapes by decomposing rectangles and area word problems.

This resource would be great to use as a review before the end of module assessment, before state tests, as a math lesson to leave for a substitute teacher, uses individual clues as daily center work over the course of a week, etc.

It begins by explaining the mystery which is that someone stole Santa’s sleigh. It includes a suspect list, five clues, and an answer key in this quest to find the culprit. Each clue narrows down the suspect list until only one character is left; that person is the thief! Characters will recognize these fun characters from movies, books, etc.

Multiplication facts. Perhaps one of the most important skills for a student to learn in order to perform most math operations in the upper grades. These fact booklets provide students ample opportunity to work with their multiplication facts, both in ways that help them UNDERSTAND the facts and commit them to memory from repeated use.
