This packet contains many suggested Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math challenges. It was created with the purpose of getting families actively involved with their children by completing challenges that will have them all having fun! Sammie STEAM, the adventure dog, will become your students' companion as they complete these activities outside of the school day. This will help foster a strong home/school relationships! Writing a play is a perfect project that gives students time to write about an event that happened in their life or an event that they made up. Once they are finished, they can share it with different groups of people and have their friends play each character. This packet includes information to share with your students about what a play is, what steps to follow when writing the beginning, middle and end of a play, why we write a play, who we write a play for, and tips to look for when rereading and editing. This packet also includes an example showing the process that is used to write with a play using a graphic organizer and an example of a play. On the last several pages, two templates are included to help students write the rough draft and final draft of their play that includes space for characters, props, act, scenes, and lines to show what their characters are saying.

This Fractions Operations Mystery Project will have your students excited to review their fraction operations! There is a printable and digital version of this project included! They will be solving 36 questions involving fraction operations. They will get 6 clue sheets with 6 questions on each sheet. The answer choice leftover is the answer to that part of the mystery. Great beginning of year project for upper elementary (4th grade and up) and middle school students! This plaster project has everything to start a successful year in the classroom - high student engagement, multiple project variations to finish plaster colors wheels with different media, worksheets for off-task or disruptive students, plus step-by-step instructions with photos - to guarantee an excellent outcome for your students, even if you have never used plaster before. A bonus for this project is after students make their own color wheel, they can use it for the rest of the school year as they work on other art projects.
If you have not worked with plaster in the elementary classroom, don't worry! This lesson includes specific instructions and tips for successfully using plaster with your students. Also included is a guide for ordering plaster with a formula for determining how much material you need to order.

All texts then have an extension activity, crossword puzzle and wordsearch activity for those fast finishers. Answers, for teacher use, are on the final page of each document.
Secondly, there are three biography writing units about the same authors. The units have been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.

Biography - Example, Graphic Organizer, & Template

Writing a biography is a fun and interesting project for your students. This provides them with the opportunity to learn about someone that interests them and share it with their peers! This packet includes information to share with your students about what a biography is, why do we write a biography, and rules to follow when writing a biography. This packet also includes an example showing the process that is used to write a biography and the steps that are taken to add onto a biography to be sure it includes a beginning, middle and end. On the last few pages, it includes a template to help students come up with possible story ideas, add onto each paragraph they will include in their biography, and a reference sheet. Space to write a rough draft as well as a final draft is included.

Some of the questions require students to put their feet in the shoes of characters who are experiencing a problem. When students are reading each story, they will review the importance of establishing boundaries that they can use throughout their day to day routine.
