Great beginning of year project for upper elementary (4th grade and up) and middle school students! This plaster project has everything to start a successful year in the classroom - high student engagement, multiple project variations to finish plaster colors wheels with different media, worksheets for off-task or disruptive students, plus step-by-step instructions with photos - to guarantee an excellent outcome for your students, even if you have never used plaster before. A bonus for this project is after students make their own color wheel, they can use it for the rest of the school year as they work on other art projects.
If you have not worked with plaster in the elementary classroom, don't worry! This lesson includes specific instructions and tips for successfully using plaster with your students. Also included is a guide for ordering plaster with a formula for determining how much material you need to order.

Creating an ABC Book of Asia Geography Lesson Assessment or Activity

Challenging your students doesn't mean it can't be fun, creative, and group collaboration. This is a Geography Asia research or wrap-up assignment that can be used throughout the study of Asia (or modified to fit another topic) in geography, world history, and other social studies classes. I have used this in my class for 7 years and it has been a very successful learning tool. This can easily be modified the assignment to fit various topics. Students and parents love this assignment because it is fun and reflects what students have learned. Students are proud of their work when they finish. The idea of the lesson can be changed to fit studies within other core subjects, such as science. This is a supplemental activity that will enhance students learning within the unit study. The teacher-ready supplemental activities included in this lesson are focused on an Asia Unit.

Sammie Steam was designed to look like a cross between the scientist Albert Einstein and the artist Leonardo da Vinci. This packet contains many suggested Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math challenges. It was created with the purpose of getting families actively involved with their children by completing challenges that will have them all having fun! Sammie STEAM, the adventure dog, will become your students' companion as they complete these activities outside of the school day. This will help foster a strong home/school relationships! As the children complete the activities and share them with the class other students will eagerly join in! It is a perfect way to encourage the students to make connections from one academic area to the other. This package offers differentiated ways for the students to document their STEAM experience. Students are encouraged to use photography, artwork, writing, a log etc. This original challenge, created by the STEM to STEAM Trio, is aligned to the Next Generation Science and Common Core standards. Habitat Centers and Activities for The Grasslands

This packet focuses on learning about the different kinds of animals that live in the grasslands. Included are writing pages, project instructions, center activities and wall posters. It can be a simple packet for talking about the animals in general or you can go further by learning about the animals in the tropical grasslands vs. the temperate grasslands as well as learning which ones live in the African Savanna or the American Prairie/Great Plains. Table of Contents Pages 3-5 – These pages are a sorting activity where students can sort the animals according to whether they are in a tropical grassland or in a temperate grassland. They can also sort animals to whether they live in the African Savanna or the American Prairie/Great Plains. Pages 6-17 – The pages are for drawing pictures of different kinds of grasslands and drawing animals that live there. Student will write the names for the animals they draw. There are pages for grasslands, tropical grasslands, temperate grasslands, the African Savanna, the American Prairie and the Great Plains. Each type of grassland has 2 pages with different writing lines. Pages 18-23 – These are poster pages for each type of grassland and the animals that live there. There are poster pages for grasslands, tropical grasslands, temperate grasslands, the African Savanna, the American Prairie and the Great Plains. Pages 24-29 – These are clip cards for telling whether the animals live in the African Savanna or the American Prairie. Cards are included with and without the animal names. Pages 30-35 – These are clip cards for telling whether the animals live in the African Savanna or the Great Plains. Cards are included with and without the animal names. Writing a play is a perfect project that gives students time to write about an event that happened in their life or an event that they made up. Once they are finished, they can share it with different groups of people and have their friends play each character. This packet includes information to share with your students about what a play is, what steps to follow when writing the beginning, middle and end of a play, why we write a play, who we write a play for, and tips to look for when rereading and editing. This packet also includes an example showing the process that is used to write with a play using a graphic organizer and an example of a play.
