I have your back. I've been teaching math and computer science, including APCSP, APCSA, and Data Structures for almost two decades. I also teach an introduction course. This is part of the course I made up for my intro students. I have a BS in computer science and know what students need to know.
This is part 5 of an introductory Programming in Java course. These lessons are meant to be done over a few days; the idea is to get students doing cool stuff as fast as possible. With Java, that is NOT an easy task.

Writing a play is a perfect project that gives students time to write about an event that happened in their life or an event that they made up. Once they are finished, they can share it with different groups of people and have their friends play each character. This packet includes information to share with your students about what a play is, what steps to follow when writing the beginning, middle and end of a play, why we write a play, who we write a play for, and tips to look for when rereading and editing. This packet also includes an example showing the process that is used to write with a play using a graphic organizer and an example of a play. On the last several pages, two templates are included to help students write the rough draft and final draft of their play that includes space for characters, props, act, scenes, and lines to show what their characters are saying.

Cross Curriculum | Transdisciplinary Unit ~ New Beginnings

This is a 10-15 day CROSS CURRICULUM lesson! It includes tasks from Math, LA, Science, Art, Social Studies, and more! There are two different videos that I have included.
The scenario: we have to leave Earth because of pollution. Students are part of the New Beginnings Mission and they must settle a colony on a new planet. Tasks include map making, decimal multiplication, scale drawings, team building, geometric drawings, research, measurement conversions, and more. It is presented in PowerPoint format. The first slide is an overview. All worksheets are included as slides that can be printed. There are also instructions included in the notes section of each slide.

Middle School Geography: Human Population Density Map Skills

Looking for a great lesson that encourages collaboration and hands-on experience in creating and making maps, graphs, and/or charts? Or do you need a simple lesson to introduce the concept of population density to your students?
This lesson includes videos, map presentations, and more to teach students the meaning behind "population density". Students will team up to work collaboratively to create a map, graph, or chart depicting the population density of the 7 continents. In addition, they will learn how to calculate population density. Students will analyze their maps, graphs, and charts to compare and contrast the differences and reasons for densely and sparsely populated regions and will provide 5 reflection statements based on their observations.

This packet contains many suggested Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math challenges. It was created with the purpose of getting families actively involved with their children by completing challenges that will have them all having fun! Sammie STEAM, the adventure dog, will become your students' companion as they complete these activities outside of the school day. This will help foster a strong home/school relationships! As the children complete the activities and share them with the class other students will eagerly join in! Writing a biography is a fun and interesting project for your students. This provides them with the opportunity to learn about someone that interests them and share it with their peers! This packet includes information to share with your students about what a biography is, why do we write a biography, and rules to follow when writing a biography. This creative Art Room Gaming Badges Activity was designed to be printed and displayed as examples while you teach. Use this Google Slide file to display these beautiful images one-by-one on a large screen. *NOTE: this is a yearly event; it will take most of a full school year for any student to complete all 30 gaming badges…and that’s a good thing! *Students may try for any badge, in any order, however, students will want to start working on gaining easy gaming badges first, before trying to get the harder ones done. *Once students accomplish the criteria for a certain badge, either the teacher or the student may take colored pencils (only) to color the accomplished badge, so it looks similar to the completed version. *Move on to completing another great gaming badge. Animal Pixel Art in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets | Distance Learning

Need a fun way to introduce Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets to upper elementary or middle school students? This great lesson incorporates animal themed art as students learn the basics of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. First, they'll create a quick pixel art from a given example and then they'll create their own! These are also fun lessons to use if you just need something for a one day lesson.
This lesson is great for distance learning/remote learning. You can upload it to your school's learning management system (Google Classroom, Edmodo, Canvas, etc.) or share with students via Google Drive.
