This resource is a science driven, easy to use pack to use when investigating all things pumpkin! Pumpkinology is a great way to incorporate kindergarten science standards in a fun, fall themed way.

Cut off the top of a pumpkin and let them scoop out the insides to count seeds, estimate how many counting cubes tall is a pumpkin, how many paperclips will it take to fit around the pumpkin? Will the pumpkin sink or float? What is the life cycle of a pumpkin? Color or use tissue paper to produce a tear art version to create their very own pumpkin.

I use this resource in my classroom on October 31st as part of our fall party! We investigate all things pumpkin and the grand finale is when we carve a face on the pumpkin, add in baking soda, vinegar and green food coloring to make the pumpkin explode (outside of course)! This is a day your students will remember for years to come!

Teachers tell me they can't integrate yoga and mindfulness for two reasons: They don't know how and they don't have time. I hear that 100%.

This product is made to help you SAVE time, but first, you have to invest your time. If you spend ten minutes a day, 3 times a week in September and October, by November you only spend 5 minutes, and by January kids are doing this all by themselves. You can learn it together and then you ALL get the skills! Imagine that! Imagine the time you will save not micro-managing behavior.

A colleague and first-grade teacher name Nicole did just as I described above and her class was lightyears more manageable by mid-year than the other groups. People would comment about how quietly they walked in the hallway and how quickly they transitioned from activity to activity. She invested the time and was paid back in dividends. Together, we can use yoga and mindfulness to learn about and take care of our bodies.

Social-emotional learning and self-awareness can be learned using this product. Think of the responsible decisions children can begin to make when we help them connect the dots inward and outward.

When it comes time to discuss timbre, instrument families, ranges, and the alike, you need instant samples of instruments. I used to do it the old way -- finding a specific piece of music, cueing it up in the CD player or mp3, and implement it in my lesson. The Pumpkin Patch Field Trip Unit is part of my Field Trip Unit Series. The series was created with homeschoolers in mind, but can be adapted to be used in a classroom as well. Field trips are a great way to supplement learning, but often homeschoolers don’t get any background information on the location of their field trip and want to enrich their experience by expanding the learning at home before and after the trip. These units help give information and fun activities before and after the field trip.

These units are available in PreK/Kinder, Elementary, and Middle & High School levels. All Pumpkin Patch Field Trip Units follow the same outline and the parent/teacher info sheet is the same for all three so that if you have children of several ages, you can seamlessly teach them together.
