Task #1 Plot

Task #2 Characters

A way for your students to work together figuring out who is who from the novel with character cards and an answer sheet. Once solved students gain a code word.

Task #3 Close Read

Students must close read an excerpt from the novel and acurately answer questions about the excerpt to reveal the last code word.

Task #4 Encrypted Message

Using all the clues from the previous three tasks students must solve the encrypted message to escape the room.

This resource begins by challenging students with a mission, complete the tasks to solve the mystery word and four digit code to have the Greek Gods offer you immortality and a seat in Mount Olympus. Students will read about Zeus, Poseidon, Hermes, Hera, Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Ares, Hephaestus and Demeter. This activity will have students reading about each Greek God; their symbols, what they were god of, and their importance to Ancient Greek. Check out the preview to see what each task card entails. Students will need to walk around the room reading the task cards. Each task card has a code word on the bottom which is the answer to the question/fill in the blank. The answer will NOT be found on that same task card. For example, the answer to task card #1 is found by reading the passage on task card #8. This activity will have students reading about what country the explorer sailed for, what part of the Americas they explored and how their exploration affected later colonization or knowledge of the Americas.
