Cartoon Last Character Standing

Students will be given a list of Cartoon Characters to see how their characters are eliminated over a 10 day period during the Last Character Standing Games. They will be given a pair of dice that will be used to determine if the character moves on to the next day or if they are eliminated. On the back is a series of questions to ensure that students are learning about experimental probability. Very fun and there will be a lot of laughs.

In this activity, students will have 15 problems with integer answers. They will practice solely one-step addition and subtraction questions, with varying set-ups and variables. There is room to show work!

Aligned to the common core standards, this Level Ups activity provides 5 levels of challenge for your students to complete, starting with pre-requisite skills involving order of operations, operations with integers, and operations with fractions (rational numbers).

Students start at level zero and work their way up to level 4, giving them accurate feedback on what they have mastered, and what they still need to work on. Celebrate Your halloween with your kids (students) and these cut and paste worksheets.

Connect is a math-based card game that engages students. They can practice any math skill and have fun in this fast-paced environment. Students use flashcard-like playing cards and math symbols to match each other's cards. When there is a match, both players shout out the answer to the shown equation, and the fastest player wins!

The catch is, there could be multiple matches in a round when the top cards are taken off, creating a chain reaction of fun!

The best part is, you can edit the cards using Google Slides to fit any of your needs! This game can be used for ANY skill. Currently, the game is set up for solving trinomials when a = 1, but you can replace equations as you see fit. It's easy change the cards to addition, fractions, percent, solving equations, factoring, etc.

Even though the game is designed for math, you could switch the game from math equations to sight words, rhyming words, description words, science words, important dates in history, etc. The cards are editable!

Here is a FIVE Station activity on probability. Students rotate through the stations working on different aspects of probability with decks of cards.

**NOTE - I actually use this in a 7 station setup. One station is group 1-on-1 with me and another group is at the computers. (See last thumbnail for explanation.)

Factoring Trinomials using the x-method. Practice with these task cards to factor out trinomials. Great for center work, group work, and/or for that extra practice to master the skill of factoring.

You can print once and have the task cards to reuse year after year.
