Students get to think about concepts such as mean, median, range, mode, quartiles and outliers in a real life and practical way. The products include both quantitative and qualitative data and the statistics involved. Both the measures of central tendency and measures of dispersion are covered.

Real-Life Data and Statistics is most interesting for students. In this fun, DIY Task, (with complete key), students study the men's 400M hurdles world record from 1908 tot 2021. They have to
- plot the data on the coordinate plane
- draw a bar graph of the data
- calculate the rate of improvement from one record to the next

Real-Life Math Activity/resource! Practice of Fractions - A Good Exercise!

It is always a good strategy to review essential skills with your students, and this is right up there with the most essential!
This fun real-life fractions exercise deals with a situation adults (especially those of us with OCD) have all faced - how to hang pictures on a wall with equal spaces between each picture. Students will face this real-life situation where they will use addition of fractions, subtraction of fractions, multiplication of fractions and division of fractions to hang these pictures equal distances apart. The exercise gives practice with proper fractions, mixed numbers, improper fractions, converting between mixed and improper fractions, obtaining the LCD, simplifying fractions etc.
- Fractions are important for all students

This Fractions and Decimals task (with complete Key) gives students practice to become fluent and efficient using their calculator. Students get 30 fractions to 1) enter correctly and 2) change the format. Students also get 20 fractions problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to solve.
The task includes practice with the following skills:
- changing fractions to decimals
- changing decimals to fractions
- changing mixed numbers to improper fractions
- changing improper fractions to mixed numbers
- adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions and decimals
- converting answers to the required form
- rounding answers to the required number of decimals
